“Go on ANZAC Day”
Reviewed 6 September 2012

Two or three times a year, ANZAC Day for one, the historical preservation society open up the world war 2 tunnels of the gun emplacements for people to inspect. You can drive most of the way up to the top and park at the old parade ground for the army contingent based there. It is worth a visit for the view even if the tunnels are not open on a fine day.

“55 years in Wgton and only went to see it this year!”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

What an amazing place. I'm ashamed to say it took us so long to go and visit Wrights Hill Fortress. Theirs a lot of history in this place and the views are stunning! There is an area where you can sit and have a picnic if you wish too. Go see it next time it's open!

“Worth the trip.”
Reviewed 13 August 2012

Most visitors to Wellington will make the trip at Mount Victoria. That is a great experience. However, if you want a more spectacular experience and want to put the time to do it, go to Wright's Hill. It is much higher and the view is more expansive. You look down on Mount Victoria and see much further across the harbour.

“Tunnels inside the hills”
Reviewed 1 April 2012

Part of Wellington that not many people visit but it is well worth a visit. Here is some of Wellington's history that many don't know about. Walking throuigh the tunnels makes one aware of what could have happened to Wellington.
