“Don't count the steps”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2013

Just enjoy the walk up and/or down and know that you are walking part of Wellington's history. Nice little shops on both sides too and read about John Plimmer and his dog at the bottom.

“History 101 for Wellington”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2012

I am a sap for dog stories, so this is a great one for dog lovers, or any one who knows the dog story about Greyfriars Bobby in Edinburgh. Do not change your trip just to get here, but a nice place to walk past

“These are stairs”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2012

There are so many in the city that none are particularly special over the others. Try as many as you can while exploring the hills.

“Historic steps, not much to look at”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2012

There is an oak tree about half-way up the steps that was planted by John Plimmer (his statue is at the entrance to the steps on Lambton Quay). If you walk up, take the time to stop and (catch your breath) look at the plaques detailing a little of the history of these steps.
