Stayed "At Home" whilst visiting Wellington. As I used to live in this great city I knew that the location was fantastic - right on the doorstep of Te Papa and close to the great restaurants and night life of Wellington. However, the quality of the accommodation and value matched that of the accommodation - so it was a perfect match. The self contained units have everything you want as well as a cute balcony which for us had good harbour views. If you are coming into Wellington and want somewhere central that is a good value - this is your place! Leanne and Jason were good hosts who were very helpful.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 weeks in November. Because we were staying for such an extended period of time, we were specifically looking for somewhere with decent living space and full cooking/laundry facilities in-room in a central location, and At Home delivered on all counts. The location is brilliant, as you are so close to the restaurants on Courtenay Place and also the shopping on Willis St and Lambton Quay. And we could see Te Papa and the waterfront from our balcony (at least, a sliver of harbour past Te Papa!). The apartment itself was great - we stayed in Apartment A which has a full size bedroom and separate lounge with a kitchenette. The bathroom was enormous with a double ended walk in shower and full size washing machine and separate dryer. The balcony was a plus too, especially when the sun was shining. We also really appreciated the 24 hour gym facility and the free WiFi. The staff were also brilliant, special mention goes to Leanne whose warm welcome and great attitude made us feel very 'At Home'. The only criticism I would give is around the cleaning of the room. We went away for one weekend during our stay and returned on Sunday afternoon to find our room hadn't been cleaned since the Friday. However, when we mentioned this to Leanne on check-out she apologised profusely and promptly offered us a free nights accomodation on our next stay. The other minor quibble is that they seem to only have one cleaning lady, so we either had to try and time our return from a day out to when she would have finished cleaning, or not have the room cleaned. However, this might not be such a problem for people who are staying for a shorter period of time and thus don't spend too much time in the hotel. The cleaner was always very friendly and willing to give us fresh towels and empty bins even if she wasn't able to do a full clean.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here, it ticked all the boxes for us, and we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

We stayed here one night before catching the ferry to South Island. The room is very functional - comfortable bed, kitchen with pots/pans, cooktop, dishwasher, and fridge. There was free WiFi, and the shower was excellent. There was also a laundry machine in the room, though it had small capacity and took a few hours for a complete wash/dry cycle. You can get free access to the gym on level 1, but we didn't have time during our trip.

The location is great - the Te Papa museum is across the street. There's a large supermarket within 5 minutes walk if you plan to cook instead of eating in a restaurant.

The only downsides in our trip were

1) I specifically asked about parking when I booked the room. I was told the hotel had a few spots, otherwise there was parking across the street. There was no hotel parking available when we arrived at 3pm. The lot across the street has a 12hr maximum, so we drove around sightseeing until 7pm, then paid $8 for overnight parking (cheap rate for Fri night - other nights may be more expensive).

2) Hauling all our luggage across a busy street and up the elevator to 4th floor took a few trips, and wasted 10-15 min at night and in the morning.

3) The clerk who greeted us upon checkin seemed more interested in finishing her phone call with a friend rather than answering my questions. Fortunately, most of my questions were answered by the printed material provided in-room.

Aside from these issues, I thought the room was great value for the money and would recommend staying here.

The rooms are on the 4th floor of an office complex, very nice big rooms, no breakfast. Leanne is the hostess, she's great fun and runs a good operation. Easy walk to the museum and restaurants.

i booked At Home for me and 7 of my colleagues to attend a conference at Te Papa. I could not fault At Home Wellington! It was a great place to stay! All rooms and furnishings were new and modern, the rooms were extremely clean and had all facilities you could ask for. The gym was excellent and wifi is included in your room rate. Te Papa museum and wharf was a 5 min walk if that. The greatest thing about At Home Wellington though was the service - thank you Leanne and Jason for making us feel so welcome and offering help and info about Wellington and everything and anything else all along the way!

This boutique hotel (on the 4th floor of an office complex) is just a great place to stay. The rooms are light, bright, clean and spacious. My room had a balcony which overlooked Te Papa and allowed a place to sit outside and enjoy the sun.

The room I was in, had a Kingsize Bed, flat screen tv with satellite channels, a kitchenette complete with microwave, fridge, oven, stove and dishwasher. The room was also serviced everyday meaning after a full day of being out and about I came home to a nice clean room. The room also had an IPOD docking station with am/fm radio which was a pleasant suprise. These guys are way ahead of some of the 5* hotels in that regard.
The bathroom has big and comes with a heated towel rail and hair dryer (I believe thats important for the ladies to know!).
There is also an onsite gym which is free to use. Parking is also available.

The staff are very fantastic and very welcoming- nothing is a problem for them. ie: I was a solo traveler but had 2 friends call in on me during my stay. (One of them had booked their own accommodation elsewhere only to be told the day before arrival that his room had been double booked and they could do nothing to help- not very convenient when you are coming from a different country. Thankfully AT HOME came to the rescue!!) Organizing 2 trundle beds for them for the night was not a problem. They were more than happy to help out and even checked in with me to ensure everything was ok.

The location of the property is brilliant- very close to Cuba St, Te Papa Museum and the CBD. Restaurants, pubs, cafes and a 24hr convenience store are all close by.
Sadly I only had 3 days here- but you could very easily stay here for 2 weeks.

We stayed for two nights at @ Home Wellington, and found the accommodation to be of a good standard and value. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by our host Leanne, and were very pleased to discover that the apartment complex has free access to car parking opposite the building (by arrangement). Our room was of a good size and was very comfortable. Leanne was available during our stay and dealt with any queries in a professional and courteous manner. On the whole a good stay, and we would return.
