“Great place to celebrate something special”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

This restaurant is in a small terrace house on Boulcott Street in Wellington and does not take bookings. It usually fills up by 6:30ish.

Food: The food is rich and delicious. It is pricey but well worth it if you can afford to splurge more than you usually would. Both times I've been they catered to my gluten and dairy free requirements. My first time they didn't have any desserts on the menu that I could eat so they created a fresh fruit sorbet for me instead.

Service: Excellent. The staff even sneakily organised writing 'happy anniversary' on my fiancés plate in chocolate for dessert.

Atmosphere: Quiet and cosy with warm lighting. Despite having white linen on tables the atmosphere is not pretentious. I even noted one fellow taking off his work shoes whilst at dinner.

“Unpretentious and very popular”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

At 99 Boulcott Street. A very small place. No reservations accepted. Full by 7 PM on a weeknight. Expect a very long wait after that. A great bar, but no cocktail list. Modest wine list, but good selections and prices. The beef filet signature dish was outstanding. Great lamb and fresh fish dishes. Great service, that perfect balance between attentiveness and restraint.

“Doesn't disappoint after all these years”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

This restaurant has been around for years, and still delivers an upscale bistro experience, good food and great service. We've become somewhat addicted to their good value Sunday night roast special - $45 for a roast dinner, dessert and a glass of red wine. Although the portions of roast meat are sometimes a little less than generous, the meals are always delicious and overall it's a pretty good deal. The seasonal crumble of late, feijoa and quince, has been particularly good!

“Good food and friendly service”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

I like almost all the food that we ordered, especially the lunch special - T-Bone. It was flavourful and done perfectly as we asked - medium. I will definitely revisit if I am in Wellington again.
