Floriditas has been a popular brunch destination for some time - and deservedly so. The menu is interesting and fresh, the space bright and airy with high ceilings and an outlook to the passing foot traffic on Wellington’s vibrant Cuba Street. Popular with groups and the better dressed, “ladies who lunch” demographic, it is not as edgy as some of the other popular spots in the area. Like its sister eatery Loretta just along the street, it is more Kelburn/Khandallah than Newtown/Berhampore. We enjoy eating here for a change, and the food never disappoints, but I have to say that I prefer the eateries staffed by Kiwis. The service here is fine, but recently the staff who have served us have all been from the Northern Hemisphere. When in New Zealand, we love the friendly New Zealand service experience and are happy to seek it out. But from time to time, a visit to Floriditas does hit the spot.
