Backbencher is across from the Parliament buildings, and is a politically-themed place where, according to the Parliament tour guide, some of the politicos actually dine and get into discussions with patrons, or sometimes meet reporters, etc. There are large satiric statues of politicians (fun to look at for foreigners, even if we didn't get any of the jokes), political cartoons all over the walls, and all of the menu items have names that are political gags. It's a fun place to go, even if you don't get the jokes as a foreigner), and the food is good. Service was so-so, but friendly. Worth a trip for an interesting slice of the capitol.
