We have stayed just one night in this excellent cottage on our way to the Picton Ferry the next day. Although tropical typhoon Lusi was blowing her anger the very night we slept like babies in the comfortable winter cottage. Gary and Kaye are wonderfull hosts and we still feel ashamed we did not enjoy their generous breakfast offer to the full. All down to a misunderstanding on our side, we did not expect breakfast and were horrified when Gary and Kaye brought it in while we had only half an hour to spare before leaving for the Ferry. Gary helped us with finding a nearby golfcourse the afternoon we arrived and the cottage is just a pittoresk little Gem hidden in the garden behind the main house. Next time we will certainly do them justice.

This was a quaint little cottage with friendly and helpful hosts. The breakfasts were homely and generous. The fire place would be nice in winter. The bed was comfortable. It is a central location within the wineries whilst still being in a secluded, quiet spot on their property.

I spent days (literally) doing research to find the best deals / cutest boutique hotels for our 2 week trip across NZ, and boy did it pay off when we got to Broomfield... *What an absolutely charming little B&B!!* Kaye and Gary are ever so attentive while letting you relax and enjoy your privacy. We didn't want to leave!

We arrived in the evening to find a couple of slices of homemade cake in our warm and cozy Winter Cottage as they'd started the fireplace about 30 min before we got there. The breakfast was divine!! Homemade everything you could want made by Kaye and delivered by Gary (what a team they are!) at whatever time you wanted.

The Winter Cottage was spotlessly clean, fully appointed with everything you could need, and decorated with luxurious yet liveable charm. We immediately felt at home and snuggled up on the couch by the fireplace. We even decided to have our own dinner in one night as we didn't want to leave and enjoyed the cottage that much!

Great location to explore the area -- very close to all the wineries and only a 10 min drive to Blenheim town.

HIGHLY recommend this little hidden gem -- you're sure to love it!

Room Tip: The Winter Cottage is divine in the winter with the fireplace, but I imagine it's just as lovely...

I am a little late in writing this review, we stayed at this lovely property back in Dec 2012 and I think we were the first guests staying in the re-opended B&B after a 2 year break. This is a little gem, beautifully decorated cottages and perfectly manicured gardens in lovely Renwick. The best B&B we stayed at in our entire trip and Kaye and Gary's hospitality made the whole experience all the more special. Aside of the scrumptious cakes and breakfast others have talked of, Kaye also gave us awesome restaurant and wine tasting recommendations ensuring that we had the best possible time during our short 1.5 day stay in Marlborough. Thank you Kaye and Gary and look forward to staying with you again!

We were recommended Broomfield by another place that was full and felt like we'd stumbled across a hidden gem. It's perfectly placed in the middle of Renwick so walkable to the shops and pubs for everything you need. But once inside the haven of the cottage area you'll feel like you're surrounded by vines, fruit trees and not much else- it's heavan. Kaye and Gary are lovely hosts and have created cottages that give you the privacy and freedom of self catering with the convenience of a B&B. Kaye's breakfasts were lovely, home stewed rhubarb, fresh fruits and yoghurt, eggs and bacon if we wanted it. And it was so nice to come home from a long cycle ride around the wineries to home made cake. They even arranged for bike hire through their local friends for us. A perfect place to stay in the middle of the wine region and the nicest place we stayed in the whole of our NZ trip.

This is the second time i have stayed here and it's still an amazing little haven (and prob the best place we stayed at in NZ). The cottages are beautifully decorated and spotless inside making them feel luxurious yet relaxing.

To add to this, the hosts, Kaye and Gary are really lovely and make you feel very welcome. There's the organic soaps, the delicious home made lemon cake to come home to after an afternoon of wine tasting, fresh flowers, the well stocked tea (proper tea leaves) and coffee pots and then there's the breakfast...... a beautiful and very generous helping of locally grown fruit, home made granola and home made stewed fruit, plus croissants, eggs ( from their hens), bacon.....you name it!! You almost dont want to head to a winery the next morning!!

If you plan to sample the wineries of Marlborough, the cottages are in a perfect location, being right in the heart of Renwick. Would highly recommend. The owners have just started back after a 2y break so you may not find it listed as highly as some other places but this is a real find. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Have stayed in both cottages and both are charming

We found this cottage through the information office in Renwick. There are two cottages situated in the grounds of the owners’ home. We looked at both but decided on the one bedroom cottage as there was just the two of us (the other has 2 bedrooms). The cottage is beautiful and was easily the most individual and tastefully decorated place we stayed in on our trip around New Zealand. There has clearly been a lot of thought and attention to detail put into the décor, with beautiful linens, unique art and furniture. Little touches such as fresh flowers and handmade soap in the bathroom made it even more special. Although the kitchen area is not very well-equipped, i.e. there are no cooking facilities, this did not matter to us as we ate out in the evening, and, as it was a homestay, breakfast was included in the morning. Breakfast was served either in our cottage or in the main house. We chose to have it in our cottage. The breakfast was so fresh, with one of the highlights being the homemade muesli with stewed rhubarb and yogurt. There was also a beautifully presented fresh fruit platter, freshly squeezed orange juice as well as a cooked breakfast. It was all beautifully served with linen tablecloth and napkins.
The cottage is surrounded by fields and an orchard and we really enjoyed sitting outside on the open porch in the evening relaxing with a bottle of wine. It was not close to any busy road so was really peaceful and had a get away from it all feeling despite being in the village of Renwick and close to the local pub and shops. The hosts were really friendly and helpful.
Overall we had a lovely stay here, we just wish it had been for more than one night. It really was a very special place to stay. Highly recommended.
