A kayaking trip with Driftwood should not be missed while you are in Blenheim. Marlborough is certainly known for its vineyards, but taking some time to see the area's other natural beauty is a must. We went out at about 6pm with Will - our fantastic guide and Driftwood's owner - and kayaked down the peaceful Opawa River until we hit Big Lagoon. We were able to see many beautiful waterbirds up close and then watched a great sunset from the shore of the lagoon before paddling back. Will is an excellent guide and took wonderful care of us, offering us tea, sandwiches, and wonderful baked goods (all made by him) along the way. This trip will be a very memorable in Marlborough for us.

Another great tour with some visitors who wanted to know more about Marlborough and what it has to offer for those with an adventurous spirit. I think we ticked all the boxes and was rewarded with some great suggestions on how we can strive to improve; thank you.

We had a great time kayaking the river! The river was calm and there were plenty of birds. Will were very helpful and flexible, fixing everything on very short notice, and this resulted in one perfect day in Blenheim! A must-do!

My husband and I, and our son and his fiancee, really enjoyed our morning kayak tour with Will down the river and through the lagoon area. There were such a variety of sea birds, and Will knew all about each one. We also learned a lot about local history, and had a delicious coffee break and lunch along the way.
We also stayed two nights at their retreat, which is very comfortable and well appointed. Especially enjoyed the homemade muffins, and playing with Vix!

Will and Rose's cabin is an absolute gem. Nestled near wetlands just 10 mins drive from central Blenheim it is furnished to an exceedingly high standard. The homemade breakfast of fresh bread, homemade muffins and muesli was delicious and we loved being able to feed the 3 friendly alpacas on the farm. The floor to ceiling windows allow you to enjoy the wonderful scenery. Will and Rose invited us to explore the farm at our leisure and we enjoyed strolling around the sheep, horses and chickens. The cabin is in a sensational location and this is by far our best accommodation experience in New Zealand! We will be coming back.

This was my first time to try kayaking and I fully enjoyed it!
The tour guide, Will is really great company and just knows everything about the region and its wildlife. We had such a fun chat throughout the tour.
And his dog, Vix is so cute, polite and friendly that she made me smile naturally.
I would love to visit Blenheim again sometime and enjoy kayaking with Will!

This was a gem of a tour and made more interesting due to a very friendly white baiter who not only showed us his catch but gave us some as well. My Japanese client ate some fresh from the water. This was a highlight. We saw a lot of wildlife and thanks Akiko we would love to se you again.
