The Peppertree is a grand mansion with wonderful hosts who look after every need. On the first evening of our stay, we enjoyed glasses of the very nice chardonnay that Werner crafts from
the grapes grown in the front yard. After a day of touring the wine country, Heidi prepared a
beautiful cold supper that was the perfect end to a wonderful day.

This is a gorgeous old home - tastefully restored by Heidi & Werner - who are supreme hosts.
This is another of our favourite luxury bed and breakfasts.
We come back because we are guaranteed wonderful hosting, extremely comfortable and well equipped rooms plus incredible breakfasts. Just the place to relax after a taxing day spent exploring the vineyards. Also the location is great if you are connecting with the ferry at Picton - a short and easy journey - even at night!
The gardens are amazing too and the wisteria would be incredible when in full flower - it is huge.
Werner prides himself on his vineyard and olive grove - all of which are possible because of his charming wife who adds fine graciousness to this wonderful establishment.

What a lovely place to arrive at! The driveway from the road to the elegant house is lovely, and the house itself is an absolute gem of colonial style. Our hosts Heidi and Werner could not have been more charming. We were treated to tea on the verandah on our arrival - here we met some other guests. Our room was perfect - absolute luxury. The early evening drinks were really nice: Werner's own wine and some delicious home-made canapes from Heidi.Breakfast was lovely - and so beautifully presented - fine dining first thing in the morning! The accommodation is not cheap, but so very well worth every cent!

This really is a step back in time to all the picture book looks that you could imagine an old Edwardian colonial house would be. From tea on the verandah overlooking the lovely trees and front garden complete with white fan tail doves, to our room with its own private little garden and swingseat, heaven. Our host Heidi was so helpful and nothing was too much. We on stayed one night but really would have loved to stay longer. The breakfast spread was amazing with all the homemade offerings. If your planning to stay in the area and want true style there is only the one place to stay ..HERE.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Sunset room which has own private garden area.

This was our third stay at the wonderful Peppertree. We cannot come to New Zealand without a visit to Heidi and Werner in their fantastic home. We were as always welcomed with open arms, shown to a beautiful room and made to feel as if we had never been away. We were able to sample Werner's superb wine at the welcome session held whenever new guests arrive and then thoroughly enjoyed Heidi's amazing platter. The vineyard and gardens are wonderful to wander around and everything about The Peppertree is 1st class. Heidi and Werner have this amazing ability to make everyone feel special. We cannot wait to return, we have travelled all over the world and this is without doubt the best place we have ever stayed in. Thank you again Heidi and Werner.

Room Tip: All the rooms are superb.

My husband and I stayed at The Peppertree for 2 nights in February 2012. We were made to feel very welcome and special from the moment we arrived. Heidi and Wernher are excellent hosts. Our room was spacious, tranquil and beautifully decorated, as is the whole property, which has a colonial feel about it. Heidi's breakfasts were delicious and very stylish. We could not fault our stay there. A fantastic find!!

This place is a absolutely beautiful! Our room was a romantic and spacious room with the prettiest deck facing to the propertys amazing garden - a great and relaxing way to spend a night. Our hosts Heidi and Werner were lovely and made us feel incredibly special and welcome - not to mention offering us some of their very exclusive Sauvignon Blanc, produced in their own vineyard out of which only a couple of hundred bottles are made a year. Not only that but Heidi's an amazing cook! Her muffins and chocolate chilli biscuits are to die for.

After and during my visit to the Peppertree I felt incredibly rejuvenated and relaxed as well as happy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! It's definitely worth it.
