This hotel is centrally placed in an ideal location for exploring this small town in the heart of the Marlborough Wine Region.

I was given the Raja room, which not surprisingly had an Indian theme to it. The room was very imaginatively styled and furnished and beautifully appointed. Sadly, there is no lift access to the rooms, but the hotel staff will porter your heavy luggage up to your room for you, to save you having to lug it up the stairs.

The hotel has its own restaurant serving excellent fine dining.

This gem of a hotel is located in a renovated bank building in downtown Blenheim. Our reservation was arranged by business associates and we were pleasently surprised at how clean and comfortable this hotel was. Our room was upstairs through the old vault doors and so was very quiet! But all the rooms were fixed out with comfortable beds, modern baths, air conditioning and first class linens. Breakfast was also included. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The only down side was the town - it closed down by 6pm! The hotel does have an attractive bar and restaurant, but too formal for what we were looking for. Breakfast in the restaurant was great so I would imagine dinner would be good too. We would definately stay there upon returning to Blenheim.

A beautiful hotel with just 10 rooms right in the centre of Blenheim, with parking at front and rear of hotel. We arrived at hotel and were shown to our room, which was gorgeous. We had a four poster bed, with a lovely bathroom with a powerful shower. There is a bar inside or take the opportunity to sit out in the sun at the back on the decking and probably the best bar in the town. There is port available free of charge on the landing for guests and a continental breakfast was included with our rate. Make sure you book a table in the restaurant for dinner, it is amazing food. A great stay and highly recommended.

This hotel is governed by the quality of staff Our stay was good, the rooms fantastically different. Ask to see the rooms becuase they will probably put you in the colours room. Many more to offer. The resaurant has impressive food, great presentation. The duty manager totally put down the bar staff which was embarrrasing to watch. More staff training and better management would help.

One of several stops on our honeymoon, not the most memorable. Parking was very limited (3 spaces), which meant we were wary of going out in case no room when we returned. No lift to get luggage up to the room, but receptionist offered to help.

Room itself was lovely; massive bed, very soft sheets, great view of distant hills and we were overlooking the side so no problems with noise. Service was erratic; receotionist was helpful in booking us onto a wine tour, and waitress at dinner very friendly. However, there's no excuse for them forgetting to tell us the restaurant was shut on Sunday (sign outside stated seven days, and there's precious little else to do in Blenheim on a Sunday evening). The whole place closed down from 3pm Sunday until 7am on Monday; we came back at about 5 to find another guest sat outside waiting to check in; we had to let him in and phone for staff to come back and help.

So as a place to stay, if you're independent it's fine; just don't expect too much of the staff.

I would like to apoligise to all those who have not had a memorable experiance with us.
We would like to also point out that since the last managers comments, the bar across the road has closed and we enjoy some great nights of reasonable peace and quiet for a hotel in the middle of town. We do apoligise for any inconvience with bags and the stairs however we are here to help and will go out of our way to make your stay a great one!!

I have stayed several times over the pass few years so know a bit of their history! Its been a constant battle with the council over the years with regards to noise pollution unfortunately they have not been very co operative! So ask for the back rooms which are are great. The food has had it moments as every time they have had a brilliant chef they have been pinched!! The latest new chef Lawrence Purser is brilliant. Still a fun favourite!

Loud music blares nightly from the bar across the street which keeps its doors and windows open to attract customers. The front desk staff is vacant and unhelpful and will pretend they're not aware of the problem until they have to move you. Ask for a room in the back of the hotel!

Hotel d'Urville is situated in the CBD of Blenheim which is told to guests by staff or travel agents, there are a number of Bars around us. Yes we do have a bar accross the road who seldomly have live bands and play excessively during the night. We have a procedure in place that has been here since i have worked in this establishment which is four years. Although it does take time to get through the procedure we cannot go over to the bar and pull cords from instruments or personally close them down. Noise control needs 3 complaints, 3 separate times in order to close a bar. the 3 complaints need to have sufficient amount of time in between each complaint. The Police will only be involved if the patrons breaking the law, and bar staff are breaking the sale of liquor act. We do the best we can within the rules and laws established, we also have ear plugs in all the rooms for guests to use until we succeed in our procedures. All we ask are for guests to be patient until we are able to get some peace and quiet for you.
