Don was very friendly and when we went to check out, dropped the price by $20.00 which was pleasantly surprising. We are not motel people, so were a little underwhelmed by the room when you take into consideration that the room we chose was at the higher end of price the spectrum. Don't get us wrong, the room was very clean, smart, comfortable, quiet and everything a wonderful motel could be. So why the average rating? It's just a motel room. Somewhere to spend the night when working out of town. We have not stayed at a motel when on holiday and have spent less money on boutique accommodation that have enhanced our holiday experiences. The average rating is because while this was not an unpleasant stay, it just did not wow us.

When we first got there we were welcomed warmly and quickly given the best room that they had in our price range, and then even though it was a bit chilly we went in the outdoor pool (which was lovely and warm and spotlessly clean) then went back inside and had a great shower. Watched the tv for a bit and then used the handy restaurant guide to decide where to go for dinner. Even though there was a blackout at the exact same time that I had to vomit from food-poisoning, it was still the best stay I have ever had.

We had booked a 2 bdrmd family unit but were upgraded to the luxury 2 bdrmd villa for logistical reasons on the part of the owners - so we were very happy as we only paid for the standard 2 bed unit. The villa is stunning - very high quality, very spacious. We could of easily stayed a couple of weeks. All the facilities you could want (the washing/drying machines were particularly welcome on day 7 of our 3wk trip with two kids (10&7yrs) It was stunning weather so we enjoyed the private garden and outdoor table with our own wine tasting after a day spent at the wineries, very private. The kids even used the pool despite it not actually being open officially and the heating turned off for the winter, the owner kindly took the cover off for us and watched in dismay as my 7yr old jumped in ! We found it very peaceful and slept really well. The quality of furnishings and bed linen is second to none. Good location - not in central Blenheim - it's a drive but that is what we wanted (closer to the wineries !) Very close to the supermarket - you could easily walk. Parking right outside the unit. It's a shame we could only stay 2 nights. Highly recommended. The only thing I would say is the wifi signal was only any good in the room before 7am - I suspect when everyone gets up and switches on their devices there's just not enough 'space' for everyone - but for us it's not a deal breaker - we would definitely stay again.

We have stayed in a lot of motels over the years, some good and some not so good. This would have to be the very best. We stayed in unit 15 for 4 nights and we didn't wont to leave. Units were most welcoming and warm. Very well appointed and spotlessly clean, excellent beds and linen. A lot of very special pride and attention has been given through out the whole complex. Thank you Jane for the lovely fresh rose in our unit, that was very special (also our wee treats). Don and Jane you are both the very best of hosts, and have a fabulous complex, we will most certainly stay again.

Very good location in Blenheim, a few minutes to town and the airport. More importantly, close to many excellent vineyards such as Cloudy Bay, Framinghams, Te Whare Ra, and Seresin and many others. Don and Jane were gracious and helpful hosts. Their rooms are very clean and large enough with a small kitchen and seating area as well as an outdoor area so you can bring a bottle of wine back from a favorite vineyard with some cheese from the super market down the street and have dinner there. During the day there is some street noise but nothing during the night.

Very friendly host, showed me to room, and showed how everything worked, ice in freezer. A little street noise which woke me early. Grounds lovely and clean, would stay here again. Bring some ear plugs if street noise annoys you - yes I did have all windows shut
