Stayed one night at this hotel and thought it excellent. I got a price off the internet and when I went to the office, I was told that the current rate was $20 dearer but was immediately given the price stated on the internet. Great spacious room, two minutes walk to town, friendly staff and clean.

We stayed for one night at the Chateau Marlborough and I knew from the instant we walked in the door that it was going to be a good experience. We arrived at 9.30am asking to check in - this was a little too early but the front of house manager (Faye) took it in her stride, stored our bags and called us later on when the room was ready. Faye was consistently delightful for the duration of our stay. She really is in the right job and represents the place really well. A rare gem.

The room itself - a suite - was very modern, newly renovated, clean, nothing was out of place. I also appreciated the printed weather forecast, nice touch. The bed was biiig and comfortable, the balcony was sunny and the room was peaceful.

I have just a small suggestion for improving the room: provide 4 hooks for the towels and the dressing gowns (even on the outside wall of the bathroom, if space doesn't permit within, would be fine).

The biggest area for improvement, which would really make this place stand out, is the restaurant. We had lack lustre experiences there both mornings.

The morning we arrived we popped in for toast and coffee, and it took maybe 25 minutes to get it. The toast had cooled (but wasn't cold). We were in no hurry and entertained ourselves, but it was too long to wait for toast, jam and coffee.

The next morning we both ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough. The bread was really good but the scrambled eggs were quite watery and I couldn't eat it - they were too sloppy. We were also were given a bottle of water but no glasses, and when the waitress collected the uneaten eggs she politely and breezily said 'did you enjoy your breakfast?' which was awkward, given I clearly hadn't eaten most of it. I think perhaps she just didn't really think about it. I didn't want to disappoint her so said sure, yes.

However - all of the restaurant staff were very politely, helpful and friendly.

We would definitely stay again, but would eat elsewhere.

Room Tip: The suites have balconies that get the afternoon sun.

We arrived to Blenheim on Good Friday after a a horrible trip from Perth including , flight being diverted to Melbourne, missed connection to Christchurch and quite a hazardous road trip from Christchurch to Blenheim, as there had been slippages and the pavement was in very poor conditions. We were just dreaming of arriving to a cozy, warm place after all the problems we had had and we did it. We were staying in an executive suite as the cheaper rooms were sold out. The room was huge!! with a living room area and a sort of a kitchen - dining area. Furniture in very good condition and in quite a modern style. The bathroom was immaculate with a vey good size shower. The bed is very comfortable. You have free access to a laundry area from 12 to 8 pm
There is free wifi too
The staff was extremely helpful and attentive, helping me with the printing of some work material that unfortunately I had to review during the holidays, and refuse to charge me for the prints.
Very central location in Blenheim with parking space inside the hotel at no extra charge.
On the negatives , the breakfast was not included and I found it expensive for the quality received. for the same price go to Raupo, a very nice restaurant in Blenheim. We had dinner in the restaurant the night that we arrived and found it ok but not amazing.
all in all very recommended

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay with us. It was lovely to read that it was a good surprise . !!!The suites are of very good size which adds to the comfort. Once again the staff showed you real Chateau hospitality. I was disappointed to read about your breakfast experience, on most occasions we do get this right . Once again thank you.

This boutique hotel was so cozy that I didn't want to leave. I booked a suite and made myself at home by relaxing in the jetted tub. I had a king bed with a huge flat screen tv to enjoy while drinking port that was provided in my room. The only thing I regret was getting there at 9:00pm. The room has a full kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a bedroom, and of course a huge bathroom. The Chateau Marlborough had a friendly staff, a bar, a wonderful breakfast, and they even put a special touch to the room by giving their guests a stuffed animal of a kiwi on the pillow.

Room Tip: The suites are the best! My room was 20.

It is hard to have any complaints about this place. The rooms were spacious and of a good standard. The location was central and easy to find with easy parking. All in all a good place to stay.

We ate out so can not comment on the restaurant. The bar was expensive though.

We stayed at the Chateau for 2 nights as part of our trip around the South Island. When we arrived, we were greeted by very friendly reception staff, and were checked in by Heather. We were put in a Classic Suite facing the road on the first floor, and first impressions of the room/bathroom, we were very disappointed, as we were not aware of the renovations that were being done to the rooms (the bathroom was very dated and did not reflect a 5 star hotel), and the noise from the road was very loud, with no privacy from the street (although the views over the park were nice). Heather called our room to see if we were happy with it, and of course we asked to be moved, in which she gave us a free upgrade to a deluxe suite (Suite 14), which faced the pool, and had no road noise (no privacy, so we just kept the blinds closed, which was fine). This room was much better, the bathroom had been fully renovated (with heated floors, bonus!)( and the room was very nice, clean and comfortable - this is what we were expecting! The hotel offers a pillow menu, which I was very happy to see they had an allergy friendly pillow (we all know how bad hotel pillows can be, but this one was almost as good as mine at home!) The bed was comfortable, but we noticed a lot of hair (not ours, as we had just arrived) on the duvet, which accounts for the loss of one star rating from me - I think the duvet's should be cleaned after every time someone checks out of a room, which it was evident this hadn't been, so we just slept with the sheet! The walls to the rooms were also very thin, as we could hear everything that was being said in the hallway from our room, and when we were in the hallway, we could hear everything being said within other guest rooms - perhaps management could look at ways to better insulate the rooms from noise? We had dinner in our room the second night we were there. I ordered the salmon and risotto, which was tasty, but very rich and quite sickening, but fairly priced and fast service. There is also a guest laundry available free of charge, which was very appreciated as we were on our last couple of days of our holiday and a washing machine is just what we needed! Free and easy parking, fast and friendly check in, great service and very friendly staff all made for an enjoyable stay. We would especially like to thank Heather for making our stay pleasant - nothing was ever too much of a hassle for the staff. Thank you!

Room Tip: Don't get a room that faces the road - very noisy! Make sure you get a room with the bathroom re...

Thank you for taking the time to place feedback on your recent stay with us. Our staff are recognised for their friendliness and helpfulness and was wonderful to read you experienced this. We are in the process of upgrading our classic suite bathrooms. We have reflected this in our room rate and advise this on our website and generally at the time of booking, however on this occasion this didn't happen. I do apologise for this. Over 3/4 of our suites have luxury bathrooms obviously at a higher rate. I will be sure to pass your comments on to the departments.

We are just home from a weekend in the Marlborough region and stayed here. The staff were great and very helpful. We dined in the restaurant and both enjoyed our meals. The seafood chowder was excellent as were the snapper and the rissotto was exceptional. We had a Grande studio and it was spacious and very clean. Had Sky TV and free wifi as well. It's also a short walk to town. Would stay there anytime and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: We had room 14 over looking the pool and close to all the hotel facilities. It is a quiet but also h...
