The location was just close to heard of city center, although there is nothing much at the Christchurch city center now. The reception Mr. Xu was really friendly and helpful. We were there in one night and then depart to Lake Tekapo for a night and then back to Christchurch before we catch our flight back. It was very kind of Mr Xu to safe keep all our luggage when we went Lake Tekapo (only bring the minimum necessity for a night stay at Lake Tekapo). We were staying in the family room, the only room for improvement is there is only one heather in the whole house with big dinning area and 2 rooms. So, we need to request extra heather from reception. Overall its a pleasant stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Travelling alone and arriving at about 7pm I appreciated my bag being taken to my room and advised where take away food was. It was no trouble to ensure I was booked on a shuttle to the airport by the staff. I stayed in downstairs studio room which was a large room with large comfortable king bed - only one bedside lamp though. Shower/toilet area was small but adequate. I did find the shower temperature difficult to adjust as shower head and tap faced opening shower door. Very clean and plenty of bench space and microwave in kitchen area. Easy walking distance into Christchurch or bus stop just down the road. The room seemed lacking in insulation and I could hear ever noise from the upstairs occupant with the ceiling creaking with their movement.

Room Tip: Maybe upstairs would be quieter

This was our first stop on a 6 week tour of New Zealand and Australia. This motel was easy to find and conveniently located close to the town centre, what's left of it, and the Botanical Gardens. We had a comfortable room with a double bed, seperate kitchen and bathroom. Everything was clean and well maintained and we had a good nights sleep after our long flight. If you like cats, you must meet Piggy, Poppy and Chewi! Highly recommended motel with friendly and willing staff.

Room Tip: If you have heavy cases as we did, ask for a ground floor room.

Friendly and welcoming staff / owners.

Generous sized room, although a little dated it was very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Well equipped for making your own breakfast or snacks. Comfortable bed.

Good value, walking distance into Christchurch or bus links if preferred.

Minor negative was the noise from the unit above. Try to get an upper level room for a quieter night.

we stayed hers twice in September, once a couple of days after the eartquake, and a week or so later and on both occasions found the managers to be the most delightful and helpful people. The unit we stayed in was generous and clean and the only fault we could find with the whole place was the lack of sound insulation between rooms and that was not overly onerous. Alice went out of her way to ensure everything was ok during our stay and we found she made what was ,initially a nervous stay, into one of the highpoints of our holiday. The units were spotless, the beds good and the shower ok.

My partner and I stayed at the Tudor Court for our first week of being in New Zealand. It was a great place to relax and get over the jet lag. Alice is an amazing host, and even went out of her way to help us get our laundry dry in time for our departure date. Also my personal favorite was the fact that the beds have an electric blanket. Overall it was a great home base to have for a week, with a fully equipped kitchen and located close to the post, mall, and grocery store. There are also several restaurants nearby if you wanted to dine out. A quick walk into the city and only a few minutes walk to the park and Botanical Gardens.

And one last thing, I only bother to write reviews when a place is exceeds my expectations.
