Charming old hotel, built in 1870. We had a room with views on the bayside that opened up to the shared balcony. The room was fairly small, but tastefully decorated and comfortable. We didn't have an ensuite, but the shared bathrooms were modern, roomy and clean. Lovely surprise to have bathrobes provided. The shared breakfast room was well-stocked with tea/coffee/hot chocolate and choices of cereals, bread and spreads. We didn't dine there this time, but we have in the past and the food was delicious. That's what prompted us to stay there this time when we went to Christchurch. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend you stay there.
