Stayed here on our last night in NZ. We arrived fairly late and so had dinner in the restaurant. Very glad we did as the food was superb and very reasonably priced. My hubby is a big fan of Seafood chowder and the one he had at the Copthorne is the best ever.
Rooms very comfortable with everything you need. Staff friendly and efficient.

Stayed here on our last night in NZ. Great location to airport and our car rental (Apex). Free shuttle to airport, Antartica Museum, and other places. Free pass on bus that runs right by and goes to center of Christchurch. Great room but pricy. Probably could have worked on better price but didn't bother. It was worth the convenience. Free wine/beer welcome glass in bar. They kept our bags for the day while we walked Christchurch before our plane left.

We booked this through Wotif and it is great value for what you get. The only problem we struck is that there was no mention of the fact that the standard rooms do not have aircon. It had us befuddled for a while as there is an aircon controller on the wall but no matter what we did with it nothing occured. A call to reception enlightened us that there was no aircon installed in the standard rooms but we could upgrade to a business room that has it. By this time we had already unpacked so we decided to live with the room even though it was like an oven, the room temp was showing 34C on the LCD. We opened the windows but the curtains were so heavy that they blocked any airflow, eventually we tried reception to see if we could get a desk fan which they provided us with.

Depending on the time of year this would not be a concern but in summer I would definitely opt for a business room.

The room itself was in good order, nothing to make you cringe and the hotel has a good restaurant and bar facility.

The airport transfer service is top notch and definitely is a draw card to stay again.

Spent one night, February 19, and then 2 nights, February 25 and 26, 2010. Felt like a family run hotel combined with larger hotel type facilities. Room 355 is fantastic, with very large sliding doors opening on two sides of the room. Very modern yet comfortable room with lots of interior glass walls. Room was in excellent condition. We were surprised that what we expected to be a typical airport hotel turned out be be of such high quality.
