“GOOD VALUE, CLEAN AND WELL EQUIPPED”
Reviewed 15 February 2011

Stayed here for 3 nights on arrival in Christchurch, on a super deal 3 nights for the price of 2, which made it very cheap. The bedroom looked onto the park and was a pleasant 20 minute walk into the city, but take note of the route if walking back as we wandered around the park for ages! The room was very clean, fully equipped and not noisy considering the proximity of the road. The shower was hot and powerful. Bruce was a good host and even gave us a cool bag and freezer blocks for our entire holiday, (we returned them when we booked a night for our return.)
The only slight point was the bed was a bit soft in the middle, but that was a very small minus for this good motel.

Hotel is very good, value for money, but more worth is the owner's care and assistance.
When we reached this hotel, we have realised that one of our passport is lost, and we are in a desperate mood to search it or to find alternative way to travel back to India next day. During this situation, the help and assistance by the owner (Maggie) was marvelous and remarkable. She helped us, guided us and made all her efforts make us feel normal and peaceful.

Rooms were neat and spacious, and at a convinient locations, when I compare to other places across the both islands, where I did my short stays before reaching here, this place is a steal for the price that we paid.

We are a family that enjoys cooking. This motel is well equipped with kitchenware. Pak n Save and Countdown supermarkets are not faraway. The owners are very welcoming and will listen carefully what customers are saying. I strongly recommend this motel as the price is reasonable among all motels in christchurch!

Although one needs to walk through the gorgeous Botanical Gardens to get to the downtown area, there are lots of restaurants and services close at hand. The units are older, but very roomy and fully-fitted with anything needed to make yourself self-sufficient.
The owners are not only attentive, but feel like family. The TimTams for an evening snack were that extra touch.

Great Location, with everything close by. Warm welcome on arrival, and bonus vouchers and discount offers for local attractions were in the room. Slightly older, but well maintained. We stayed in a 1 bedroom - 2 singles in the bedroom, main bed in the lounge area. Our room was directly under the metal staircase to the second storey, and you could hear footsteps up and down, but this did not cause any disruption overnight. The bathroom was tiny, suitable for only one person at a time, and also was a walk through to the toilet - a bit challenging for 4 people to share - but the shower iteself was great (water pressure and temperature) - a real bonus when travelling as many are not.

Spent 2 nights at this motel. It was clean, fully equipped, well-positioned, and very good value for money. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly. I would recommend to anyone.

The motel is pleasantly situated on the edge of Hagley Park and easy to locate, whether arriving by road or from the airport (which is conveniently accessible). It is a pleasant walk across the park and botanical gardens to the city centre, although too far (and unsuitable) in the evening for city centre restaurants. However, there are several restaurants/eating places just round the corner. As a previous reviewer commented, none are great restaurants but there are sufficient decent places for a few nights (and a decent café that does good breakfasts), and the cheerful hosts – Bruce and Maggie – are very helpful in advising where these are.

The room was comfortable and well equipped, and we would certainly stay there again.
