Been here several times. Very moving display of the Quake heroes. Great for young and old. The staff are very friendly and the display of Polynesian history is worth a look.

We nearly missed going here, we were so tired after a day of exploring Christchurch, but decided to pay it a visit. We are so glad we did. There was lots to see to interest the whole family. Completely made up for the fact that we had taken our son out of school for a week to go to the South Island. There was so much to see there that was current and relevant to his current curriculum!

Great for kids, adults amnd grandparents! on the tramline, beside the wonderful Hagley Park with 3hrs free parking, and a great insight into the regions history. Add to that the cafe and the frequently changing exhibitions. A treat for all the family!

Wandered around this museum for an afternoon. Good Variety of exhibitions, natural history, social history, geology and more recent exhibits such as photos from those who were working on recovery and rescue right after the earthquakes. The Paua House display and film was great and the way the big dolls house in the toy shop in the old street had been left as it was with after the earthquakes. Well worth a visit.
