It was easy to find by coming from the airport by car. We arrived late and it was after the business hours so the key to our room was arranged and we were able to get into our room without any problems. It is a beautiful building and we liked our room on the 2nd floor, not too spacious (especially the bathroom) but the room(and the whole building) is well maintained and very clean. The room also had a folder that showed useful information in terms of what's around the B&B.

The breakfast was also nice with fresh fruits, cereal, eggs cooked to your liking, juice, etc. The location was also good that there were many restaurants near by. We had dinner at Cook'n' with Gas which was very nice.

Since there seems to be no person to provide service after the business hours, it would be good to inform the B&B in advance in case some help may be needed when checking-in (e.g., need help carrying heavy luggage to the 2nd floor room or there are many bags, etc).

Very central location within easy walking distance of restaurants and tourist attractions. On the very edge of the "red zone" cordoned off area of the centre of this devastated city. It is comfortable, immaculately clean and the staff are most welcoming. Our downstairs room was very spacious with ensuite facilities and tea and coffee making equipment. An optional "meet your fellow guests" in the early evening in the lounge with a complimentary glass/es of wine was a lovely touch. An ample breakfast was served each morning with a cooked option if required at no extra charge. It was good to see signs of recovery and a determination to carry on in spite of the surrounding devastation which will clearly get worse before it gets better, but in the words of a resident will give them an opportunity to create a modern and vibrant city once again.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay in this beautiful house while on our touring holiday in New Zealand.
We had a lovely room on the ground floor with our bathroom across the hall. The lounge was a great gathering place in the evening where we were offered a glass of wine and a chance to meet up with our fellow guests.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful and breakfasts were excellent.

Very central location within easy walking distance of restaurants and tourist attractions.

would highly recommend this establishment.

Stayed January 2012. Two couples on two occasions.
Lovely house and very friendly, efficient staff. Rooms well presented and spacious with good facilities. Spotlessly clean and nice personal touches in public areas. Breakfasts exceptional with home made extras (muffins to die for). Great location on edge of `red zone` and within 5 minutes walk of two good restaurants.Five minutes walk to museum and park. Had to leave at 6am to catch transcoastal train and continental breakfast was ready for us before we left. Convenient for airport transfers.
Highly recommended

We felt so welcome here, right from our arrival. Easy to find from the airport (20 mins) and private parking to boot! The house itself is lovely. Plenty of old world charm set against contemporary art on the walls. Our room was huge and comfortable, the breakfast was lovely and the location was central. Only tiny niggle was that the bathrooms need updating but the whole place is scrupulously clean and very welcoming. Christchurch itself has to be seen, we have all rather forgotten the hardship and damage the earthquakes have caused and to see it is certainly sobering. On a positive note, the inventiveness and tenacity of the locals to soldier on is hugely impressive and inspirational! After a looooong flight, Orari was a welcome sanctuary. Thank you!

Room Tip: From what we saw, all rooms are large and comfortable. Bathrooms are a bit old fashioned but scrupulously clean.
