“Poor service ”
Reviewed 8 February 2014 via mobile

Popped in to this cafe whilst out on a walk for a bite to eat with my wife. The service at the counter wasn't very friendly plus the order I gave was forgotten about. I had to go back to the counter to ask about it and the apology was half hearted to say the least. Plus its not a good look when the waitress is on her break with her feet on the furniture. Will not be coming back here.

“Mainly zeroed in on by cyclists”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

A café especially supported by cyclists who are attempting (or have just completed) the nearby steep Dyers Pass Road run. You can even purchase a Zeroes branded lycra vest.
Open for breakfast, lunch (brunch) and dinner with good snacks and pastries, with vegetarian catered for, Excellent coffee and tea made from leaves. The premises are not licensed and you can’t even take your own wine. However, there is free wi-fi.

“Food a let down”
Reviewed 12 August 2013 via mobile

This used to be our local pre-quake so haven't been for a while.
Went for coffee and a snack on Saturday and as usual was busy with groups of weekend cyclists. Coffee great but we are C4 fans anyway however...
Food was terrible. We had the vegetable samosas which had very undercooked 'pastry'. Looked like flaky pastry of some sort which as well as looking almost raw inside tasted old, like it had been in the cabinet for a few days.
The member of staff serving tables was clearly busy but was really rude to a couple of tables within earshot. One chap had a taste of his coffee and realized it was incorrect. She was really cross that he'd had a sip so I can only assume she would have given it to another customer!
Only gave the score I have because of the C4 coffee.

“Great coffee shop”
Reviewed 14 December 2012

This is my local coffee shop.

Fast and friendly service, excellent coffee, seating indoors and outside. A range of food from good local suppliers (such as Vic's bakery). This coffee shop is a mecca for cyclists who have been or are heading out on the local roads or Port Hills MTB tracks.

You can txt your order to 0275 zeroes (937637). Has free wifi but you have to get a code to use it.
