Taking an evening stroll from our apartments in town we came across this bar by chance.

Food wasn't our directive as we were looking for liquid relief. The cocktail prices were competitive and nothing out of the ordinary.

We arrived on a Friday evening and it wasn't too busy. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. We only stayed for one drink & sat outside because it was very warm inside.

Good establishment but probably wouldn't try it twice.

I was so excited to go here for nostalgias sake. I heard that they have le café classic nachos on their menu which I enjoyed many times at the old le cafe. We arrived in good time to have dinner and then see a movie. We informed the waitress of this and were assured that we had time. We ordered a bruschetta as a starter to share and two nachos. After 30 minutes we called the waitress over, she apologised and said they were 5 minutes away. 15 minutes later, we received our bruschetta. It was dreadful. An hour after we had arrived we seemed to be no closer to getting our nachos so decided to leave. We were then charged for our drinks and awful starter. I was very disappointed and wrote to management to complain. I have not received a reply. I will not return.

A very nice little cafe, great for an early start to the day. Got the best cup of coffee in Christchurch here and had a Huge bowl of porridge. Great place to eat.

We came here twice for dinner and enjoyed both visits. Friday night was very busy and we could only sit at a bar leaner with a small wait for our meals. This did not worry us at all, and our meal was worth the wait. Yum and well cooked. They do not have kids meals, however will happily do a half portion where able. Saturday evening was quieter , but again the meal was really nice. Lovely friendly staff. Not a huge choice menu wise, but we did not struggle to find many options we would happily enjoy
