This was the first time we had eaten at Baretta"s and we will definitely go back.
The small plates are enough to share between two if you are having a main course. The Arancini balls (4) were delicious and cheesy.
My main of pork belly with a cider jus was perfectly cooked and so very tender, it fell apart. The kumara and potato rosti was a perfect fit.
We did order (reluctantly) a side of buttered vegetables, a generous portion and excellent value. However we probably didn't need them as there were enough vegetables incorporated into our mains which was a refreshing change. So many restaurants now require you to order vegetables or salad as an extra, I think they should be a component of the main meal not an extra charge.
The atmosphere was cosy and elegant and it was warm. Nothing makes you want to leave a restaurant before dessert more than being cold.
Excellent service from our friendly, helpful and attentive waitress completed a lovely evening out.
Heading back to try the Poussin next!
