this is a structure and a bridge and a river and a peaceful place........ALL well worth the diversion, and respects sgould be paid to the citizens of Christchurch who fought for US, the present generation of new Kiwis. I think you'll find this a place of history, a place of beauty and a place to enjoy.

The Bridge of Remembrance is a place to reflect on those who went to War however it's not somewhere to spend a lot of time. At the moment it is fenced off due to potential damage after the Earthquake.

The Bridge of rememberance is supported after the quakes but holds new meaning now....not just for those who lost their lives in the war but those who suffered after 22.2.2012

It does not seem to have a big damage by the quake. However you can not cross over it at the moment.

The Bridge of Rememberance can be seen when visiting the new Cashel Container Mall. The Bridge as i see it is now the new heart of Christchurch as it is today until the Cathedral is back up and running again. The bridge is fenced off but you can sit beside the River Avon and watch the world pass by.
