We stayed 2 nights at this Villa. It was very well presented and in perfect condition. The room was a little and on the small side, maybe it needs less furniture but was of a high standard. We only had contact with a young girl who was pleasant enough but not warm or interested in us at all. Myself being a Manager in the hospitality industry would expect a little more from this standard of property. We did not recieve any explaination about any of the features such as coffee/ tea or snacks througout the day. We did not have the breakfast on the 2 days we were there as we felt a little uncomfortable and the room a little sterlie. Location is perfect however the value for money is questionable. We booked this property on the reviews of others on Trip Advisor, maybe it was not suited for us?

The Classic Villa is in the perfect location. Within walking distance to downtown Christchurch, punting, the trolley, the Arts Centre, and many other key Christchurch attractions. I was blown away by how wonderful the breakfast was. The service was phenomenal. Although it is a Bed and Breakfast, the owners do a flawless job of providing top notch service to the guests.

They have free wi-fi in the rooms (big plus!) and free parking.

We stayed in the cheapest room, and although it was on the small side, I was not disappointed. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had heated floors.

The Classic Villa was our first night stay in New Zealand and provided the experience we had expected reading what other reviewers had said about it. Spotlessly clean in all respects, located within a beautiful precinct and close to the main city heart, comfortable amenities and friendly hosts willingly to go that extra distance to make one's stay enjoyable. From the initial booking through to departure Peter and Jan provided an efficient and accommodating process with quick return responses to our email enquiries.

Breakfast was great and off street parking available. Two doors away is a great restaurant called Gas & Go - one of the best meals we had in New Zealand - don't miss.

The location of The Classic Villa is brilliant within walking distance to the city yet very quiet. The service right from the emails to the fabulous breakfasts were top of the range. This was our first stay in a boutique hotel and we will definately be back. We arrived early in the morning and when we went to drop off our bags we were told that our room was ready and we were able to check in early! Nothing was a bother and we were even treated to some beautiful piano playing late one afternoon. Our stay was everything I could have wanted memorable for all the right reasons.

This is a wonderful B&B in the best location in Christchurch--right across from the Arts Centre and a short walk to the lovely Botanical Gardens, center of town, shopping, restaurants, and right on the sightseeing Tram stop. The Arts Centre is a delightful group of great arts and crafts shops. On the weekend there is also a fair outside. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very nice, there is free wifi, a lovely lounge with tv and fireplace, the hosts (Jan and Peter) are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are filling and fine. One alert: if you are not sociable in the morning and don't like sitting at a communal table, this may not be the place for you, although there are two long tables so if the place isn't full at the time you come down to breakfast, it is possible to go to the other table and get some privacy. But if this doesn't bother you then this is definitely the place to stay in Christchurch. Besides, we met some fascinating people from all over the world at breakfast and this added to the very nice experience of our stay.

This is a must-stay in Christchurch, the perfect combination of small hotel and cozy interior that makes you feel immediately at home. The Classic Villa is in the ideal location, with the city centre jsut a short walk down the tram line down the street.

The ensuite rooms are spacious and furnished Vogue-style, with timber floorboards and a cute fireplace-style heater that glows all night. We didn't want to leave!

They have a great system of coded entry for after-hours arrivals, and we found our room easily even though it was late.

Peter is an ideal host, up early to make sure every-one enjoys the expansive Continental breakfast spread included in the price, which is very reasonable for the luxury you enjoy.

We can see why The Classic Villas has won different awards and is a very popular small hotel for travellers to Christchurch. We hope we'll be back!

We stayed here in May for only one night , we wish we had have known how good it was, as we would have organised to stay longer. The minute we walked up the Camelia lined path to reception we were back in Italy, the staff were very friendly, the room was lovely as was the rest of the building and surrounds, we will definitely stay here again.
