“Thankyou Sue and Robin”

I had the pleasure of staying at the delightful Clearview Lodge whilst being snowed in at Christchurch this month. Thanks to you both for being so welcoming, caring and hospitable. I may have stumbled across you in desperate need but I will definitley be coming back!! The room was extremely comfortable, the food and wine devine. The property looks magnificent in the photos on this website but you to see it covered in snow - truly spectacular. Lisa R.

With a genuinely warm welcome on arrival and huge, well appointed rooms you can be assured of a very comfortable and relaxed stay at Clearview Lodge. We felt very well cared for during our stay and found the location to be very convenient. Exploring Christchurch and surrounds was easy as was arrivng and departing from the airport. We loved sharing the estate wine and produce with our gracious hosts and can recommend purchasing a few goodies to futher enjoy on your travels!

Crossing New Zealand from North to South by train, ship and car we finally chose Christchurch as our turning point before flying back to Auckland and home to our country at the begin of April 2012. In request for a nice and comfortable accommodation we got by chance the recommendation to stay in Clearview Lodge. And actually this recommendation fulfilled our dreams and provided us relaxing and joyful days.

The welcome greetings by Sue were so inviting and the room she offered us was amazing: best designed, well equipped, space more than enough and windows offering wonderful views to the garden and wineyard. Overall we got the feeling to be at home and member of the landlord family Sue and Robin. They gave us valuable hints for our sightseeing tours in and around Christchurch.

Beside the above mentioned attributes the location of the lodge itself, embedded in a lovely green area, is a further hit. Although lying outside of Christchurch the location offers an ease access to the city of Christchurch as well to the airport and to other travel destinations, as Akaroa Peninsula or the mountains west of Christchurch.

If we have the chance to visit New Zealand once again in future we would choose Clearview Lodge in anyway as No.1 to stay and relax.

I previously stayed about a decade ago at Clearview Lodge with my wife while on vacation and we had a wonderful time. Business brought me back to Christchurch this time so I decided to treat myself to something different to my normal business slump hotel routine. So glad I did. The hospitality, food, wine and surroundings are as great as ever. And make sure you ask to see Robin's 1961 Jaguar E-Type!

This is truly and wonderful place to stay. Sue went out of her way to make us so welcome . She gave us a lift into the restaurant in Christchurch, and when she realised it was my husband's birthday, quickly popped a candle into one of her fabulous home made cakes and presented it to us when we got back from dinner. We can not recommend this homestay highly enough!!

All I can say is fabulous. Sue and Robin are the consumate hosts, the home and property are beautiful and the food and wine was delicious. I just wish we were able to stay more than one night. This was the best B&B dollar for dollar we've ever stayed at and the casual elegance and personal attention and excellent service was very inviting and relaxing. What a wonderful way to start our stay in such a beautiful country. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
