“Stylish and quirky little room”
Reviewed 1 April 2010

The decor to this room is very stylish and quirky. I really liked it and it had a nice feel. the location is great, being very close to the Christchurch city centre. The hosts were also nice, friendly people. My only complaint is that I found the mattress a bit hard, so my sleep quality wasn't the best.

We had 2 nights in Christchurch and found this b&b very comfortable and ideally situated for visiting the city centre, restaraunts etc. within easy walking distance. The b&b is very functional and tastefully furnished but there's no view whatsoever or garden and it's only of any use if you want to visit Christchurch centre. The owner was very pleasant and helpful and gave us some good information which was useful. There was some noise outside from youths in the early hours of one morning and from street machinery the following day so I guess it's not the place for a quiet lie in. The b&b met our needs though. I personally found Christchurch pretty dull and thankfully we only spent half a day wandering around and headed for Akoroa which was a super place.

Lovely room, antique furniture, lots of character. Friendly hosts although we could here them upstairs. This probably means they could hear us, accounting for the convenient knock on the door to "deliver milk" despite us being extremely quiet in the midst of some holiday frolics.

Huge comfy bed, excellent breakfast, very clean room, nice bathroom. Convenient location 10 mins walk to town and excellent value for money. We paid $120 NZ

We stayed in this B&B for one night and would stay there again! The off-season rate was NZ$95 (US$60) per night, including a lovely breakfast with rolls, croissants, jams, juice and coffee. The apt. was lovingly decorated, it felt homey. The bathroom was stylish and clean. There was a hot water maker, and even a microwave in the room. The apt.s are ground level, right on the straat in a residential street, about a 10-minute stroll from the main center of town. We only saw our host when we checked in and out. They have their own quarters upstairs. Our only complaint is that even after repeatedly ringing the doorbell, no one came to the door so we stood out on the street waiting. A nearby store owner called the telephone number and then the owner let us in. Apologized for not hearing the doorbell. For location and price, this can't be beat!
