We arrived at Bealey Avenue after a long journey from Amsterdam through Seoul and Auckland to Christchurch to start our journey through New Zealand.
From the airport of Christchurch a bus goes to Bealey Avenue. It doesn't stop in front of the hotel. It's about a 10 minute walk (with heavy luggage).

Bealey Avenue is a very nice place to stay. We stayed at one of the rooms on the first floor which was furthest from the busier Bealey Avenue. The room was very clean and you have everything there that you will need. There is a kitchenette with pans, toaster, coffee and tea making facilities and a clean bathroom with a very nice shower. The bathroom is roomy enough to move around in The kitchen and bedroom are one room. We had the door open when cooking to let the aroma's of the food easliy get out.
The bed we had was very nice. A harder matress and a tv to watch programs one. There area good amount of channels available,
Washing and ironing facilities are available for a small price in a seperate room on the ground floor.

The motel is located on a busy street (for New Zealand south island terms) and close to the 'cente' of Christchurch. It's about a 10-15 minute walk.

A supermarket is also about a 10-15 minute walk away where you can get your daily groceries. A small convienance store is located just 3-5 minutes away if you want to get some water or snacks (or an ice cream on a hot day -_^)

I would definately recommend this motel due to it being clean and being not far from the centre.
We didn;t eat out so I didn't really pay attention to the eating facilities nearby, but there's bound to be nice places to eat in Christchurch which are warmly recommended by my fellow visitors.

Don't stay in Christchurch to long though. The city is still recovering from the earthquake in feb. 2011. Lots of places are empty, damaged, closed of with gates. There is a 'container centre' where the shops and liveliness is which is nice to spend some time and the botanical gardens are lovely to walk around on a nice day but other than that....there doesn't seem to be much and seeing all the destroyed buildings and emptyness isn't something that gives you a happy feeling.

Was comfy and clean, ideal for two people just off a long-haul flight. Bathroom and kitchen were well equipped, had all that we needed. Enjoyed the TV and wifi during the nights when we couldn't sleep. Nice and quiet, little noise from the road. Bit of a walk into town but no trouble. Quite spacious.

Clean, comfy, and reasonably well located. Not particularly friendly (probably least friendly owner we met in NZ) and not a lot of room for parking. Not a lot of food options nearby unless you've got a car.
