We are glad to spend our first night in Rosewood Court Motel, it was amazingly clean, quiet and we are happy.

Since we just landed and we expect to be a little tired, therefore I spent a little bit more to get a spa tub, it was so lovely especially you get a good rest after your hot bath.

We arrived in Christchurch, after completing our tour of New Zealand, tired and without a reservation. Soo & Simon, the owners of the Rosewood went out of their way to give us accommodations. Searching and arranging their reservations they offered us a quiet, second floor loft, with all the amenities. This clean, modern looking (very English style) motel is located outside the city centre but is a short drive to the Botanical Gardens, Punting on the Avon and many of the city sights.
If you want to eat in the area, just a short walk, in this somewhat residential area, you will find, very good restaurants of all tastes. Thai, Indian, Japanese and a good local Pub to name a few.

At the end of your stay you will find Soo and Simon wish you well like new friends. This was a fitting end to our three week holiday.

Room Tip: Upper level loft was very quiet, but windows were skylights.

Since the earthquake, accommodation in Christchurch has become harder to get and more expensive. At about $115/night, this motel is good value for Christchurch, but it would be a bit expensive elswhere. We had a studio room which was small for a motel, but it was clean, comfortable and fairly modern. Located in Sherbourne Rd, it is ina fairly modest area, but an easy 20 minute walk to what's left of the city. Several restaurants, a fish and chip shop and supermarket are only 5 walking minutes away in Edgwhwere Rd.
Number 29 bus from the airport stops in Bealey Ave about 10 mins walk away. There is a free shuttle to the train station in the early morning.

My wife, daughter and I recently spent 4 nights here in a two bedroom unit. The main living area featured a leather suite, a table and chairs, as well as a well equipped kitchenette. The main bedroom had a queen, the second room twin singles. While not brand new all facilities worked and the room was cleaned very well each day. Constructed side on to the road meant it was quieter and also had good parking. The managers were very helpful too when I needed some tape.

The motel is central, and close to shops, restaurants and a bakery. We tried an Indian restaurant and a Thai restaurant both within 5 to 10 mins walk.

Will definitely consider this next time I need accommodation in Christchurch. I would also recommend it to others.

Stayed in Room 1. Clean and tidy but a little dated. Room was very noisy from the busy road making it difficult to sleep. Also walls quite thin so able to hear TV in room next door. Probably wouldn't come back. Cost $110 per night

We stayed two nights in this motel after checking out other motels in Christchurch and discovering it was cheaper than most. We paid $115 for a studio unit and these are quite spacious, and the unit had a microwave and hob. Bathroom was wheelchair friendly and had a fan heater and heated towel rail. The bed was comfortable and flat screen TV decent size. Road noise was not a problem and we had two nights great sleep. Location was really good, and the owners fully serviced the unit after our first night. We would definitely stay at this motel again, as it was so clean, reasonably priced and the owners friendly.

Room Tip: If you want absolutely no road noise ask for a unit further back as we had number 1 but we didn'...
