Since the departure of Nick Mavromatis, this foodie's delight has gone backwards. Gone are the helpful, knowledgeable deli staff and the 3 varities of my favourite Greek olive oil. The haughty, unfriendly maitre de guards the cafe like a scorpion! Many of the things that have always made this cafe so pleasurable for lunch have gone.... no wine list (scribbled on the board), no water on being seated, no calzone and most likely nowhere to sit anyway, unless you have booked of course.
With the building repairs stretching into years, rather than months, perhaps the owners should consider improving the courtyard area so it is more all-weather to reduce the pressure on the small cafe ?
Food still authentic, but the antipasto platter was dismal and overpriced.
