I've tried to replicate the texture and flavours Tandoori Palace pack into their dishes and never quite achieved it! The quality of their offerings never ceases to impress and they always seem to achieve that authentic creamy Indian texture to the delicious curries on offer. I'm a local to the Ilam Tandoori Palace, and have always found them friendly and hospitable, arranging a table for me at short notice if necessary without booking (although booking is advised as they do get busy).

Had food there with some friends in Christchurch. Service was a bit slow, but everything came quickly except naan breads. It took 10 mins to come. Cheap on drinks. Good for drinks though not much of a selection available. It good to have takeaways atleast everything will come together

Restaurant is clean and neat, but a kind of sterile decor. Service is friendly and food came quickly, but th food itself (two lamb dishes) wasn't very interesting. Naan was good (garlic and plain). No one. heckled to see if we wanted anything else once our dishes were taken away, and we finally had to ask for the check. Very odd, we thought. It is conveniently located to the University, and business was good--a family party and several other tables, so maybe we were the odd ones.

Nice cosy restaurant near Canterbury University in Christchurch. We picked up some takeaways from here on a cold Christchurch night while staying in the city. The butter chicken-although a little sweet for my tastebuds-was nice bad and the serving size was generous. The service was prompt and friendly. We paired it with a few bottles of Jaipur Lager beer picked up from the local
New World supermarket.
