Although located on a busy road, the accommodation is set well back and we managed to have an uninterrupted night's sleep. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The bathrooms, in particular, were the best we had come across in our two week trip around the South Island, cleaner and larger than those in much higher priced establishments. The staff were friendly and very keen to help. I would recommend 555 to anyone looking for reasonably priced good quality accommodation in Dunedin.

A great place to stay; the staff are friendly and very helpful - nothing a problem; they were warm and welcoming; unit was neat and tidy; bed was comfortable; breakfast was just right - each day; and always delivered when we asked. Location is excellent; handy to everything;supermarket right across the road; and handy to eating places. We would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Stayed here for 2 nights on our journey across the South Island. Room was very spacious and clean. The complex was very quiet and the owners quite helpful with directions etc.a Grocery store and restaurants were within walking distance. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Bayview? The street is called Bayview - but there's no view of a bay! There's a BP filling station across the street, a CountDown supermarket in a different direction, a flower shop nearby, all quite convenient but the environment is more commercial/trade estate than bayview.
The motel sits on a corner, the folks in reception are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. It is also on the route from the City Centre to the Otago peninsular which has a very scenic drive around it which leads to the Royal Albatross Centre where you can see Albatross on the nest and flying around. Spectacular.
So, it's a pretty good motel, at a reasonable price, but not exciting.

Hello Peter, thanks for your review.
Regarding the name Best Western 555 on Bayview, we are situated on the corner of Bayview and Andersons Bay Rds,and all the land around us has been reclaimed, starting mainly in the 1940s and finishing in the late 1970s.
Anderson Bay Rd then followed the site of the original shoreline, so there was a 'bay- view' once. I hope that helps to understand where the name comes from.
Dunedin is an amazing small city with so much available for a tourist to see and do, and I'm pleased you enjoyed your time here.
Kind regards Sue

Lovely stay for 2 nights. Good for getting around and sightseeing. Close to city and Otago Peninsula. We were given a upgrade with king sized bed and spa. Very helpful when we had a bit of car trouble. They helped find somewhere to get a tyre fixed on a Sunday. When mentioned no vegemite on breakfast tray they found some for the next day.
