Lovely building, beautiful gardens - would be better if they didn't allow coaches to park in front of the entrance. Not many trains these days, but glad they kept the building.

“Stunning”

Probably the most iconic building in Dunedin and it is definitely worth taking 15 minuites out of you day to take a few snaps of the building and the garden out the front.

“An attraction all on its own”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

The Dunedin Railway Station is beautiful. The coloured glass and mosaics are real works of art. At night when it's lit up its just gorgeous. I love the "feel" of Dunedin. If you go to Dunedin be sure to visit the Railway Station.

“Beautiful mosaic floor”

The railway station is a must-see. The Otago Art Society has a gallery upstairs where local art is sold at very reasonable prices, and the Farmer's Market is just delightful. If you do visit the market be sure to go to the bakery on the ground floor of the building. They have the best baguettes in the world!

“One of NZ's finest old buildings... Gawgeous!!!”

The disappointing thing about Dunedin Railway Station is that you can't take a train there anymore! The exterior of this building is gorgeous; the interior is ridiculous and sublime. Great Farmers' Market on Saturday morning.
