“Wow....if you can visit here.”

Bruce and Jenny provided environment and hospitality that is top notch. We visited in late May and Bruce had many suggestions that were successful options when the sun didn't shine but the rain did. Traveling with two granddaughters we were able to see all the penguins species and the Albatross, as well as marine mammals. What a visit. Always welcoming us to visit with them in their space made this like being with family. If your considering the Otago Peninsula, make reservations here..now. This is the best central location and family warmth that one could expect.

We stayed with Bruce and Jenny for one night in March 2012. It was a memorable night and one of the highlights of our 3 week stay in New Zealand. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted and made to feel right at home. We had intended visiting the Albatross Colony the evening of our stay but the inclement weather made us change our minds. In the end, we had a fantastic evening with our hosts who treated us like royalty. We spent the evening chatting and generally having a great time. Our room was very well appointed and every little detail was considered, even down to a chocolate on our bed before retiring for the evening. The views from the room of the inlet are stunning. And last but not least, the breakfast in the morning was to die for - a continental breakfast of the highest standard imaginable. Thanks Bruce and Jenny for a memorable stay. We could not recommend you and your B and B highly enough.

This was one of our best stays in New Zealand. Bruce and Jenny made us feel right at home. They treated us like family and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The room was fantastic and the views of the sunrise were beautiful. A great place to stay!

What a wonderful B and B certainly one of the best we stayed in during our trip to New Zealand. As soon as we arrived we developed an instant rapore with Bruce and Jenny. They are a lovely couple and made us feel very welcome and at home in their immaculate and comfortable house. The room was great and the food delicious. Callies is situated in Portobello and is very convenient if you want to be picked up by Elm Tours for wildlife trips to the Otago Peninsula. Thank you Bruce and Jenny for a wonderful stay.

Just spent a fantastic night in this B&B two weeks ago. We are four persons and when travelling to Dunedin we preferred to try a B&B. We googled and then booked Callies B&B.

This I think is one of the best decision we made during the trip. It's in a good position to investigate the places of interests on the peninsula. All the things, comfort beds, delicious food, and lively conversation with the hosts Bruce & Jenny deeply impressed us. Certainly we have to mention the little dog Joey.

Hi Bruce, we did see the elephant rock on the way from omaru to omarama as you suggested, but had not enough time for other places near Mt Hutt.

Room Tip: room upstairs is larger.

My husband and I stayed with the Callisters for Christmas. Due to the Christchurch earthquake we were delayed a day and were only able to spend one night with them, but this was no problem for them at all. We left wishing we could have spent our entire 2 weeks at Callie's B&B!

When we arrived on Christmas day we were greeted by a cheerful Jenny and Bruce who showed us our beautiful, spacious room and then invited us to eat with their family (steaks and delicious veggies... + wine and dessert). I thought this was such a nice gesture as we were away from our own families and had a rough time with the earthquake delays.

The room is gorgeous... you have your own huge bed, sitting area, and balcony. The view is stunning. A few minutes walk to Portobello stores and cafes. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Callies is in a great location and the view alone is worth the visit. Jenny and Bruce are warm and welcoming; they're a fun couple to talk with. We stayed in the upstairs room which was immaculate and comfortable. The food is fantastic, especially the coffee and croissants: simply divine. As you enter Portobello from Dunedin you'll see some shops and the road will slope upwards, there was a red banner on the left that helped us spy the slightly hidden drive. They accept guests who just drive up, but considering the wonderful hospitality, their reputation will surely grow and I would advise making a reservation so you're not disappointed.
