A stylish lodge with beautiful views. Do take a walk up the hill behind the lodge, and you will be rewarded with an amazing view. KImberley kindly booked dinner at local restaurant for us.
Room was comfortable. Breakfast was a dissapointment. Obviously they are working to a budget, as there was no prepared fresh fruit, the coffee beans had run out, and on the first day no danish pastries, crossiants and only white bread.

Camp Estate is a luxury 4 room complex on the Lanarch Castle estate, near Dunedin. The suites are well laid out, spacious and offer a high standard of accommodation.

The staff are excellent, pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable on the Castle and local area.

As part of the package you are entitled to visit Lanarch Castle free. A tour of the Castle is well worth doing. You can also have dinner at the Castle, dining together with the other guests in the original dining room. Dinner was very good, if a little pricey.

To stay at Camp Estate is not cheap. The ambience of the house is also a little cool. However for a few days of luxury well worth considering.

Our stay was one of the highlights of our vacation. The staff was very friendly and helpful -very professional yet warm and engaging. We will definitely stay there again. One of the thing that really touched us was we had contacted a flu while visiting and the staff called our room to check on us and was kind enough to bring a small snack when one of us did not feel well enough to join the group meal.

Room Tip: We loved the room!! The only thing we needed was a bit more room for luggage but we definitely were comfortable and enjoyed the large, open windows and the view was spectacular. Loved the spa bath and the lovely products. The bed was comfortable. Very cozy! My husband suggested luggage racks or benches.

The property is in a unique location high on a hill overlooking some great views. The room we had was nicely decorated and clean. The only negative to our room was the pedestal sink in our bathroom which gives you zero counter space. The dinner at the Castle is a very good option, the food and service was great. Our breakfast was very tasting.

We enjoyed our brief stay here. As others have said, the rooms are lovely and the views really are breathtaking. The staff made the stay even better. Kim was a delight in the mornings at breakfast. She made sure we were taken care of and well fed.

It is a bit away from the city so plan ahead for dinner if you are not eating at the castle.

Hi RJMCA10

Thank you so much for taking the time leave us a review.
We have wonderful hosts at Camp Estate, I will make sure they are made aware of your kind comments.
Most people stay with us two nights, its a good idea to plan to have dinner with us at the Castle on one of these nights, we need booking confirmation and menu choices by 5 pm.
Some of our guests choose to go and look at wildlife in the evening, we can arrange a substantial platter to be left in the room on return.
Kind regards
Deborah Price
