Description: We are the foremost information centre on the Otago Peninsula and are open for breakfast lunch and afternoon tea. Or you could pick up one of our picnic bags and take it on one of our self guided walks. We make all our own cakes and pies as well as our own delicious ice-cream. We have great coffee and 17 varieties of tea as well as milkshakes and smoothies and the best harbour side views of any cafe in Dunedin.

A nice, friendly small cafe on the main coastal (bay side) road on the Otago Penisula. Not too many options on the penisula, and this one is decent and about half way to the tip (i.e., to the albatross center). Penguin shaped pancakes, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks, and pies (e,g., venison) available. Nice view from the pation, with inside seating available as well. Small grocery store about 1/2 block on opposite side of the street.

Or in American, penguin pancakes. It was excellent food, coffee and service. I'm glad we had breakfast here overlooking the water.

Very good value. Pleasant seating indoors and outside. Very good service and good choice of food. Recommend their toasties, meat and cheese pie and their apple pie. Nice atmosphere and situated by the road at Portobello

We came across this place at random by the roadside....we were looking for coffee and ice-cream. Although the closed sign was up...the kind staff allowed us in and cheerfully gave us good coffee...a great milk-shake and out of this world home-made ice-creams; these were seriously good!!! Thanks a lot for making a day trip to the Otago peninsular even better! cool music too!

I loved this little cafe. It just had sense of welcoming and warmth from the moment we entered. You could sit down with a great coffee and look out over the beautiful Portabello Bay or cocoon with a newspaper. The hosts were helpful, friendly and gave us a great sheet of touring info that told of the 'other' things the Peninsula had to offer. :-[)
