I very much enjoyed my stay at the Mercure Leisure Lodge in room 424. On the ground floor with a small patio w/ chairs facing the hotel garden. Large well-appointed room with 1 double bed, table & easy chair, love seat, TV on chest of drawers, good lighting, heat but no AC, wonderful marble bath with walk-in glass shower. Clean, quiet & comfortable. Buffet breakfast & dinner were OK, and the bar had a good choice of those wonderful New Zealand sauvignon blancs!

Had a one night stop in Dunedin, found this hotel to be comfortable, clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable and bathroom modern and fresh. The rooms were spotless and the reception staff very helpful. Breakfast pretty average but perfectly adequate. Location fine - at the northern end of town but right next to the botanical gardens; the shops of George Street are too far on foot to stroll to - possible if you don't mind a good long walk but we were glad of the car to pop into the heart of town. Accor really need to get with the times regarding internet - capping free wifi is just outdated. Overall very happy and will stay again but would think twice if I didn't have a vehicle.

Room Tip: If you aren't too mobile then request a ground floor, centrally located room due to the stairs.

I think it is still good accommodation in Dunedin. Yes the lodge is getting a bit old in some areas but our room was large, quiet and very comfortable. The reception staff were polite. I think no wireless in your room and a very limited time for free wireless in the reception area is poor. Accor needs to lift its game on this area. The lodge is within walking distance to Botanic Gardens and an easy drive to Dunedin town centre. Yes I would recommend it.

Nicely appointed accommodation. Clean and comfortable accommodation that is well appointed and spacious. Dining room very good. Second time here in 4 years and a pleasant experience both times. Will stop here when visiting next time.

Have come from staying one night at the Mecure. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed . Had a great sleep until 5:45 am in the morning when a loud humming noise started what I thought came from the bathroom ducting system ,but seemed just as loud in the bedroom. I rang reception at 6 am and they apologised and said they would see to the problem. 2 1/2 hrs later it eventually stopped. On checking out again mentioned the noise , with no real explanation or apology, we left feeling disappointed with their reaction really.
