Great service, great food, the most comfortable pillows ever! This is the best place to stay in Dunedin. Location is perfect with park like setting but still close to everything. Cannot find anything to fault at this hotel.

Very nice hotel although the check in took ages to obtain our bags from the coach. Good room, good food. Location a little iffy as it is a bit of a walk from the centre, there is an alternative walk through the woods which is nice.
Dunedin is great to visit, lots to see.

Booked in as a reasonably last minute stay. The room was lovely and clean, and above all warm! (I'd forgotten how cold Dunedin in May could be). I had a lovely view of the rose garden, and happy to remember it was right across the road from the beautiful Botanic Gardens for an evening stroll. The food for dinner was quite nice (Salmon), and the kitchen stepped up wonderfully with a fruit, a dish of yoghurt and fruit compote for my ridiculously early breakfast (Had to leave before room service started). The staff were professional & friendly, and there was free onsite parking which was a fantastic added bonus.
The room was also ready early, so I was able to check in just after lunch.

Stayed at the Mercure recently for a couple of nights. The room was very clean and reasonably modern and the bed was very comfortable. My room looked out on a busy road but noise was not a problem. I did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment on the food. The only thing I found a bit odd was the fact that the hotel is described as a Leisure Lodge but there was no sign of a pool or spa or any actual leisure facilities. A bit strange. Anyway I enjoyed my stay and would book at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the gardens - just a nicer outlook.

Stayed here as part of a group. Nice comfortable room. Hotel is set in beautiful gardens. Staff pleasant and always on hand if needed. We took part in the Haggis Ceremony which so much fun. Everyone enjoyed it and a we all had a good laugh. Dunedin is a beautiful city and I hope to return to see more of it - one afternoon isn't long enough.
