This is an older, in fact, an historic hotel in central Dunedin (it has some lovely architectural detailing) but it is very clean and well-run and well-maintained and comfortable. I stayed overnight on a Saturday in a fifth-floor standard room. It faced the street and there was a bit of middle of the night noise for a short time from drunks (the hotel adjoins the Casino) but not enough to be a problem. The room was well provided with soaps and lotions etc, which I always like and you can take your used soap away in an eco-bag - good idea. There was a minibar, which I always like too, and the prices were moderate. The bed was very comfortable.
The staff are good here. They are well informed and very professional. I had a hire car and parked in the adjacent car parking area for the hotel. When I checked-out, the reception staff member asked if I would like my car brought around to the front of the hotel. Nice touch! I didn't get a chance to eat in the hotel as I was attending a dinner function elsewhere, so I can't comment about the food and beverage. I would certainly return though as I was comfortable and had everything I always look for in a hotel.More
