Owner description: The Otago Peninsula is a long, hilly indented finger of land that forms the easternmost part of Dunedin, New Zealand. Volcanic in origin, it forms one wall of the eroded valley that now forms Otago Harbour. The peninsula lies south-east of Otago Harbour and runs parallel to the mainland for 20 km, with a maximum width of 9 km. It is joined to the mainland at the south-west end by a narrow isthmus about 1.5 km wide.

We travelled along the Otago Peninsular on the way to Larnach Castle. The views were stunning and the whole area very picturesque and well worth a visit

We did not visit any of the pay to get in attractions but the drive to thee doc the peninsular was spectacular and the lookout at the end of Harington Point road provides great views of the cliffs and ocean. On the left of the car park there are steps that take you down to the bay where you can see some fur seals that pose for photos! So great sightseeing is available at no charge!

We went on a tour hosted by 'Back to Nature Tours' This was a wonderful experience, we drove through and experienced a lot of the country side, had a quick tour of the town of Dunedin, and best of all had a close up view of the Yellow Eyed Penguins.
The lunch was also very nice - a nice local restaurant that served the best fish and chips
