“Livin' La Vida LOCA!!!”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

One word - STUNNING.
Beautiful views, lovely scenic drive and jaw-dropping wildlife! Plenty of cafes and shops to drop in on - make sure to visit Happy Hens and pick up a little chook for yourself and your family members! Mine loved their feathered gifts. God Bless

"Livin' La Vida LOCA!" Not totally sure what that says, but it sounds fantastic! And if the enthusiasm from your comments are any guide, it seems you had a brilliant time down our neck of the woods. (Which is fantastic. We're bloody proud of the place, and welcome our friendly visitors any time of the year.)

“excellent drive”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Take the time to drive to the Peninsula it is well worth your time the view of the harbor and countryside is scenic. It is only 28 kilometers to get to the end of the Peninsula and you can view the wildlife there such as seals and penguins and different types of birds.

“Excellent rural scenery and wildlife so close to Dunedin.”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Within minutes from Dunedin town centre the scenery becomes rural and picturesque and the wildlife is really abundant and diverse. All sorts of water/sea birds. The further you go (only takes 45mins to go right to the end) the prettier and wilder it gets. Right at the end is the Royal Albatross Centre where we saw 5/6 Albatross chicks (11th Aug 2014) getting ready to leave their nests. A tiny bit further was Natures Wonders where you can get an eight wheeled buggy driven by a guide who showed us fur seals so close you could touch them, nesting cormorants (called shags in NZ) and yellow eyed penguins (the latter were from a distance but are endangered). Lastly we went back to the Albatross centre to watch the blue penguins come in and walk up the beach at dusk with Dunedin twinkling in the back ground.

Those Moeraki Boulders are HUGE! Be sure to climb inside the broken ones for a great picture. It can be a bit breezy so take a jacket.

“You must take a drive here”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

It's not a long drive & it's worth it. The views are fantastic. We had a picnic & fed the ducks. There's a playground. Saw a couple of albatross flying overhead at the end of the peninsula.
