I-site found us another great deal for two nights. Two bedroom unit right on the street but no night traffic so noise not a problem.
Kitchen was well kitted out and the beds have electric blankets which were very much appreciated. Only problem was with the free WiFi in our room. There was glitch with the antenna the owner was not aware of until I enquired about the dodgey connection. He offered to let me sit in the office to use my tablet.
There is holiday park across the road with emergency groceries about and cooked food. You can order cooked brekkie from them the night before. Lots of fast food and large supermarkets quite close.
The owner was very nice and suggested spots to stop going through the Caitlin's.

This is an older style motel, so looks a little tired. The room we stayed in was very clean and had all that was required. The kitchen was a good size and well equipped. Another reviewer said parking was tight and I would agree with that. The bathroom was very dark and could have done with brighter lighting. Someone had obviously cooked fish in the unit the day before and it took a while for the smell to disappear. Near various sporting grounds and places so very handy place to stay. If you are on a budget, this would be a good choice. Reasonably cheap for Dunedin but could be a little more cheerful!

Had a family gathering of 10 for a weekend. Fantastic location out of the rat race of the city. Had the house at the back and a unit at the front. Very quiet and clean, though the kitchen in the house could do with a little update. Great service from the friendly staff. Warm units, very comfy beds (though we didn't spend long in them). House more retro than modern but very practical. Loved our stay here and have booked for next year!! Only wee prob we had was the house had gas hot water but for some reason when someone turned on the tap, it made the water go hotter. Owners looking into this.EXcellent value for money.
Thanks for a pleasant stay

Great welcome, nice room if a little basic, quite tight to park the car. Used the laundry - very good. We were surprised to be at a beach front location with so little available nearby in the way of restaurants, pubs, cafes and it generally seemed to be a slighty 'run down' area. . We had to take the car out each evening which was a little disappointing. Thought staff superb.

We stayed here for two nights and it was great. Perfectly clean, friendly service, complimentary wifi and fresh milk! The hotel has a very original retro feel directly opposite the beach in St Kilda. The 2 bedroom apartment with lounge, dining and small kitchen was bright and airy.

Old-style beach motel super close to beautiful St Kilda Beach in Dunedin. Family of four stayed in one of their one-bedroom units - super clean on arrival and very comfortable beds. Reasonably well equipped, and quiet being well off the street. Would definitely stay again - represented excellent value for money when compared with other motels on offer.

We stayed one night, arriving late after a long journey in really bad weather. Our welcome was friendly and warm - literally, as the heater had been turned on in our unit well before we arrived. Just the ticket. All of the things that we had read about this motel were as we found it - a bit dated, but very clean, with excellent beds and very friendly hosts. The location must be fantastic in the summer and we would happily return.
