Graduation weekend is a busy time of year for Dunedin. We managed to book the 2 bedroom apartment for a 6 night stay at an extremely affordable price! Family and friends came from different parts of the world and were all extrmemly satisfied with the location (close to town, 2 supermarkets both 2-minute walks), service (Ben and the desk lady who helped me access the luggages which we stored overnight), rooms (had everything, kitchen, cooking utensils, you name it they had it, wonderful room service, great cleaning) and on top of all these, nandos-conveniently located on the ground floor of the hotel. Overall, loved it, and will definitely be back there next time we visit :)

We stayed in "the penthouse" - 4 adults, mother and three girls. We had quite a bit of luggage which we had to carry up stairs to get to the penthouse suite...which is called this only as it is the top floor..I dont think there is any other extras for the privilege! The suite was a little too cosy with four adults, but the free wifi in the reception area, off street parking and great laundry facilities made the accommodation worthwhile. Location is just a short walk from good shopping as well. Staff were welcoming and very helpful.

Dear Guest
Thank you for choosing The Victoria Hotel Dunedin.
Due to the structural limit of the hotel building, we are not able to extend the lift access to the Penthouse. However, we are more than happy to provide the luggage service at both the check in and check out. Please do not hesitate to let our front staff know if you require the service.
Kind regards
Leo Pan

Excellent location - directly opposite Cadburys, about a 3 minute walk from two major supermarkets, in the City Centre and less than 15 to the museum of Otago.
There is parking - but get there fairly early as it will fill up. They let you keep your car there after checkout until 2pm which was great.
Washing machines and dryers for guest use - great.
Staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean but quite old, however for Dunedin it's a good price. Wifi is not included (and costs a lot) but I would stay again.

Dear Grant
I appreciate you taking the time to provide the feedback from your recent stay at The Victoria Hotel Dunedin.
Due to our central location in the town, guests enjoy the free parking at our hotel and therefore it has always been very popular for the parking spaces. If you have any parking issues, please notify our hotel staffs and we will try our best to fit you in.
The WIFI in the lobby/bar area is free of charge and it is opening 24 hours for guest to use.
I understand that some of our rooms are getting dated, but we have been continuing renovating our hotel, such as the bathrooms were all just renovated earlier this year. We are doing our best to improve both the facilities and services of our hotel.
All the best for your future travels.
Kind regards
Leo Pan

Arrived early and though we weren't able to check in staff were happy for us to leave the car. Reception staff were friendly and helpful though often when we came it was unmanned. I thought our studio included a kitchenette, it didn't. However when I asked about this the duty manager very kindly got us some cutlery, crockery and a toaster.
Reception area is very nice but as you get to the stairs and the hallways the carpets and décor could do with a little tlc.
Our room was clean but the carpet and curtains were well worn.
Bed was comfy, pillows ok. Bed linen and towels clean and of good quality.
Bathroom could do with updating, but was adequate. There was a fridge and good quality tea and coffee.
In a very good location with lots restaurants and shops nearby.
Overall, good budget accommodation.

Overall a good stay. Room was cleaned and towels replaced every day. Reasonably quiet for a city hotel. Free WiFi in the lobby was handy, you have to pay extra for in room connection. I had a room looking out to the back of the hotel and some furnishings particularly the wardrobe and lamps were a little worn but the important ones (bed and bathroom) appeared quite new. Great that the in room fridge was empty for guest use and the supermarket (open late) only a 2 minute walk away. I would not describe the room as 'deluxe', rather as basic, clean and comfortable. I'm also familiar with using the term 'studio' to describe a room with a kitchenette, the standard deluxe studio did not have a kitchenette. I got the hotel at a reduced rate through a booking site and at that rate consider it good value, walk up rate seems a bit high.

My daughter and I decided to go to Dunedin for a girls day Christmas shopping and stayed the night of Friday 8th November at the Victoria Hotel on the corner of Cumberland (the one way system in) and St Andrew St. On our arrival (at 11am)we decided to park our car in the guest car park and checked to see if that was okay. When we went to the reception desk we were greeted by a lovely male Asian staff member(Unfortunately I cannot remember his name). Nothing was a problem and he was so obliging. This was a great start and we were very impressed with the customer service. We then went into town(a 2 minute walk-stroll from there) and on our return retrieved our key for our room. I thought if the down stairs reception area and the lovely receptionists were anything to go by the room must be good, but our room by far exceeded all our expectations! It was absolutely lovely!! Very luxurious and flash. Two king size beds. But most of all absolutely spotless, lovely and warm, and very comfy beds and the view included was free. Overall a brilliant room and outstanding service!! The whole experience was faultless and we will definitely return there in the future. Thank You Victoria Hotel for a Lovely time. Very much appreciated!!!!!

Footnote: Although we did not dine at their restaurant it did look very nice and the smells coming out of it were making me hungry. :-)

We stayed at this hotel for two nights whilst visiting our son who is at university. It is in a great location, close to octagon and walking distance to university, close to main street shops and supermarkets. Our room had been recently refurbished and was fine for our stay. Free parking if you have a vehicle, staff were friendly, not a luxury stay but fine for our needs. Can be a bit noisy if lots of people are coming and going, one night was this way the other was fine.

Dear N51
It's great to know that you had enjoyed your stay with us. As we are a centralised hotel in the town, we can get quite busy when there are big events happening in the town or tour groups coming in. However, if you can let us know that you prefer a quieter room during your booking, we will be more than happy to allocate you to a room which is as far away from the noise as possible. Thank you for choosing us and looking forward to seeing you again in the near future.
