Excellent rooms, very modern and tidy. The cleaners do a impressive job of the rooms and the owners are very helpful and friendly.
All great reviews for a reason.

My husband and I stayed here two weeks ago and we really enjoyed our time here. Bluestone is situated in the perfect part of Dunedin. Its an easy walk to town and restaurants and close to the rugby stadium.
The facilities at the motel were great. Good size rooms, comfortable beds, underfloor heating in the bathrooom and good heating in the rest of the room. It also offered a kitchen area which was well equipt (not that we cooked).
The owners were very nice and helpful and the complex offered off street parking which was good and safe. We would definetly go back and stay here again and highly recommend it to other travellers going to Dunedin.

These rooms/apartments are very nice - modern, new and well-appointed, including laundry, wifi (you have to pay for it), microwave, spa bath, etc. We stayed in one of the water view rooms and found ourselves slightly disappointed given the "water view" was of a strip of the harbour (having never been to Dunedin before, we expected more). Having said that, I would still stay here again but would opt for one of the lesser rooms instead as the "water view" and the (tiny) balcony weren't worth the extra price.

Bluestone on George location is ideal for walking to everywhere as the hotel is only a few blocks into the city & minutes to the University of Otago, restaurant, cafes & the new Forsyth Barr Stadium.

We were only staying one night due to a quick in & out business trip. The building is located up a steep driveway with car parking attached.

Room – We booked a premier studio elite apartment ( 304) which consisted of a small kitchenette with laundry facilities, open plan design with king size bed & small comfortable sofa. A small balcony led from the lounge room which was heavenly as we don’t like overheated rooms.

The kitchen was well equipped for self catering & the bathroom had an enormous spa bath with a shower over head.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to soak in the bath tub which looked highly impressive with all its whiz jets.

Facilities - There is a lift, licensed guest lounge room, gym & free parking.

Overall: Bluestone on George offers excellent value with well appointed modern comfortable apartments.

The location is fabulous minutes to everything.

Our only small gripe was we found the outside courtyard light basically filtered into our room at night which made it difficult to sleep.

.

Room Tip: Best rooms are located on the top floor.

Clean, tidy, modern, easy walk to shops and attractions. Warm rooms with a view.Welcome spa bath, especially in winter. Motel facilities but with security of reception and lovely lounge area with outdoor tables and chairs for summer. Warm welcome. You need to book well in advance to guarantee a room - several other reps stay there too. Quite a long way back from the street so its pretty quiet

This is a first class place to stay in Dunedin, we stayed in the Premier apartment, excellent all the facilities you could want including a washer dryer in the rooms. The bathroom was beautiful with a good strong shower with endless hot water, nice toiletries and towels. The bed was huge and very comfortable with a range of pillows - a definite warm good nights sleep. The heating was perfect and noiseless. Hosts were delightful and very helpful.
This really is a quality place.

My husband and I traveled from Queenstown to Dunedin to check out the penguins at the Otago Peninsula and the historic most photographed landmark the train station. I booked it because it had a washer/dryer in each unit so that we can wash our clothes. The have enough suds for you to do 2 loads. We booked a studio King overlooking the hills and the city. It was very quiet and we could literally walk across the street to have breakfast at the neighborhood cafe. It was a little hard to find because it was situated towards the back of the street going uphill but I think that is why it felt safe and is quiet. We arrived very late and the front desk and door was locked (again, we had no phone with us to call) but we buzzed the superintendent/security guard of the building and he was expecting us and told us how to get access into the building and key to our room. The lobby is small but has many brochures of activities in the area. We helped ourselves to the nice and clean elevator to our room on the 3rd floor. Each room door faces a common area (below is a little garden/terrace) - I think there is an exercise room but we never used it. There is a nice clean kitchenette when you first walk in with everything you need to cook and clean and a whirlpool bath (except they disabled the bubbles after a certain hour to not disturb the neighbors as the walls are a bit thin...we didn't have any problems with the noise...probably because we were probably the noisy ones coming in late at night...). There is a large flat screen TV, modern dresser, night stands, king size bed, table and walk out balcony. The place was SPOTLESS and it was very impressive as my husband uttered - I think this is the cleaniest place I've ever been to...quite impressive when some of the countertops/appliances are white or stainless steel. Very modern decor yet very warm and inviting I thought. Wish we could stay longer. The town is very nice to walk around with many sights so I recommend staying here even for families.

We left our charger and adapter for my camera in the room and they responded to my email immediately and offered to send to our next destination in NZ with a charge of course...unfortunately, we were leaving in 2 days and had it sent to our home in US...was quite costly but it was cheaper than buying a new set.

Room Tip: Higher floors are a must for a better view of the city but I think all rooms are good. If you are on...
