I was in Dunedin for the All Black vs England test match. We had such a wonderful experience on the Saturday with the entertainment that it was a given we dine there for Sunday lunch. The meals were great and knowing the staff had a massive day previously was even more impressed that they were all still very hospitable and service was perfect. Suzanne

4 of us and a 2 year old come in for lunch a week after it opened. Disappointed there wasn't a kids menu so he could only have fries. When we ordered, we were the only ones in the place so couldn't figure out why our 4 meals took over half an hour to come out. One of us had the sliders which came with the weirdest dipping sauces that didn't match the meat inside. Another had the chicken salad that had crispy noodles and cashew nuts in it making it impossible to eat with a fork. Another had the pancake stack that was 2 pancakes cut in half and sat on top of one another. And the last dish was supposedly a beef stack of some sort that came out looking like a weird salad.
The cook herself cleared our plates and admitted they were still trying to figure out the right tastes etc that would go well together on the menu.
We asked to get the 2yr olds fries to takeaway and they came back in a takeaway coffee cup cause there were no containers.
The 2 staff members that were on didn't come check on our meals, or ask for a drinks order at all.
The music was far too loud for a dining place. We actually had to nearly yell at each other to have a conversation.

Overall our whole dining experience at Suburbia was a bit of a let down. With 2 out 4 of us, working in hospitality, we were highly disappointed. Would be willing to go again in the future when Suburbia are more sorted.
