The Hacienda Motel in Tay Street Invercargill is a gem to stay in. It is clean and comfortable with every amenity available. The rooms are well decorated with homely touches like cushions and flowers. The information available is informative and the management are excellent, very helpful and considerate. A great place to stay in Invercargill.

Room Tip: Room 2 quiet and good car access.

We spent two nights in Invercargill and picked Hacienda on the Internet. When we arrived you could see the motel was a bit dated but nevertheless we were very impressed with our accommodation, comprising large lounge with seating area, bedroom and separate bathroom. It was clean and spacious. Sky TV was available and our hostess was very friendly and helpful. It is a bit out of town but this suited us and we recommend staying there.

Room Tip: They all vary so pick one with separate lounge area.

This motel was quite standard for its type.had all the expected facilities but it was way out of town and would mean driving if we were to eat in the city(which is not my preferred option as I like a few beers in the evening) Luckily there was a large hotel/conference facility a couple of minutes walk away and I had battered blue cod with chips and salad. Perfect The young barman we met in the afternoon was very friendly and gave us some what to do's around Invercargil. Wanted to come to Australia to play professional soccer. Best of luck in that. Apart from nearly getting run over in the carpark by some ignorant mother at the end of some kids concert it was pleasant.

Three adults for two days. Very impressed with this motel and will definitely use the next time we are in Invercargill. Stayed in unit 4. Very comfortable, very roomy, space to relax, full dining room table with 4 chairs, full kitchen with proper oven. Everything cleaned to my wife's standards (difficult to do), very nicely appointed, lots of little extra touches. Friendly helpful staff. Liked the touch of a couple dozen free DVDs for use of guests. Weather was SO bad, but we enjoyed the unit.
If you need a place in Invercargill recommend you try here first.

Arrived in late, following a long day driving in the rain. Very hospitable hosts. Clean and spacious rooms well kitted out. It's dated, but not shabby. Sky TV, comfortable beds, electric blankets, heaters, good shower etc. It's a good stay, especially if you have a vehicle as it is a little out of town, but good advice from the motellier on restaurants that will come collect and drop you off. Wireless is available.

Stayed here in March 2009 - 3 adults. Would highly recommend this motel. Very clean and had some very nice homely touches. Very good value for money. We had our own transport so location was not a problem, but it was on a main road so I would say public transport not a problem. Owner very helpful.

A pleasant small motel a bit out of town. Clean, well equipped, so just the sort of place you want to find. Rated 3 star, but in our opinion should be 4 star.
NB we were there on Easter Sunday, and could only find 1 restaurant in the town open (plus a couple of burger joints), so be warned!
