“Pretty sights but something bit me”
Reviewed 3 February 2014 via mobile

The view is great, it's 15 minute walk from the center of town. Breakfast is included which is nice. Now the rooms are spacious and clean BUT I'm pretty sure the couch (thank goodness not the bed) had bugs. While we relaxed on the couch from a long and eventful day, we kept itching and bites appeared all of sudden. That was creepy!

Friendly staff. The room was lovely and clean with nice private bathroom and a great view. The communal lounge and kitchen not very impressive, so we didn't bother to have the breakfast. The only criticism is that the lodge is on a steep hill.

I've been there for a year and i found the place really good. The staff is always smiling and try all the time to solve your problem as the best as possible. The place is beautiful and the rooms are so comfortable. I recommend this hostel to everyone, family, young people, students...

We stayed here in a loft mid-season as it was closest to our price range. You get what you pay for, it's a backpacker-style accommodation, so the 'Lodge' in the title may confuse some, but it was adequate and clean and had good services. I would not advise the loft for 3+ people as advertised, it is very cramped. But we had a good time. Queenstown is incredible.

Located a few minutes drive/ ten minute walk to the centre of town, Reavers Lodge is set upon a steep hillside.
The views are fantastic from the common area and kitchen. However, there are a limited number of rooms with this same fantastic view.

Our room was on the courtyard. It was simple and clean with a small shower room and fridge. The beds were in need of some TLC though.

The kitchen was well equipped and the common room always had a friendly atmosphere. There was a mix of guests from families to backpackers. The lodge seems to cater for all.

Breakfast (included in price) was toast and cereal. Don't oversleep though, it's cleaned up at 9am sharp!

Customer service was great - always went the extra mile to answer any questions with a friendly smile.

Stayed for two nights just after new year as it was the only place at a reasonable price which we could find. Its a proper backpacker type place for young uni students doing a bit of traveling to go. The rooms were a bit dirty and they were very basic and worn out. Did not sleep much as the springs on the bed were all knackered.
Breakfast was provided. It consists of the cheapest cearal they can find and cheap white bread toast and you have to wash you own pots up.
Staff were not very attentive. Spend 10 minutes ringing the bell when we arrived before anyone came.
Its location is fairly near to the main central area of Queenstown which was handy.

Not the worst place in the world but would most likely not come back. OK if you are on a budget

I had a short stay in this friendly run lodge and a really pleasant time. First off its worth saying that the view from the balcony in front of my room was wonderful. People may complain about walking up a hill to get to the accommodation but it's only about 2 minutes of steep hill and without the walk you don't get to see those sights.

The place could do with a little bit of investment but the heart of it is in the right place and the staff were really nice and more than happy to give advice or help you out if you needed anything.

Good value for money.
