“Friendly and comfortable”
Reviewed 27 January 2014

We stayed at Amity Lodge for the weekend (we were up from Dunedin for the weekend). Our room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Parking was outside the rooms along a narrow drive. Doug and Jo were very helpful, they booked a couple of trips for us over the phone from their office (saved us doing the running around). Close to town (5 mins) but a steep walk back up the hill, nothing to worry about unless you're very unfit. Good honest accommodation, no views from the rooms but doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. We would stay here again and recommend it!

Room Tip: We were in an upstairs room. Room was quiet (no noise from above) and the bedroom was in the back of...

Jo and Doug were excellent, knowledgeable and caring hosts. So helpful with advice and assistance.

Our unit was so spacious! Lots of light through glass doors, big living area, fully-stocked kitchen (no oven, though), comfortable bathroom with big tub and bedroom with two beds. Like home away from home. Handy laundromat on site.

Location does not have a view but is in a quiet street and a short (but hilly) walk to town. If you are staying in the Queenstown area there is no need to rent a car. Also close to a bus stop.

Terrific value and they will treat you WELL!

Room Tip: We enjoyed our upstairs unit, but you have to go up a flight of stairs, no lift. Lovely view up the...

Fabulous, comfortable and clean one-bedroomed apartment on the first floor gave us lots of space and privacy with great views of the surrounding mountains over to the gondola. The town centre is just a few minutes walk away, so no need to park in the centre. Doug was a very friendly and helpful host with lots of suggestions and information on how best to spend the time we had in Queenstown. The apartment was well equipped for self-catering.

We stayed at the Amity Lodge Motel for 2 nights and enjoyed it. It is nicely located, only a 5 minute walk from Queenstown's city centre which is ideal.
The family unit we had was clean, spacious and well-equipped.

The only problem was the building site next door, which meant that we couldn't use the balcony because of the noise (or even leave the sliding door open). We thought it could have been mentioned at some point during the booking or when we checked-in, it was slightly deceitful of them not to. Especially considering the cost of our stay.

We booked this motel through recommendations on trip advisor. We found it very comfortable and well presented. It is a short walk into the main shopping area. We were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment (instead of one) due to plumbing problems. It was very spacious with a lovely bathroom.
Building site close by at the moment and we looked down onto this. However, it will only be temporary and otherwise we would have had quite a nice restful view of the main hill with the gondola.
Service very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights and our room on the upper floor was very spacious having a large lounge area and separate bedroom. It was very well equipped, clean and in a convenient location albeit up a hill! Instructions of no cooking smells a bit intrusive giving an uncomfortable feeling- suggest sorting the extraction system!! Parking a bit cramped but otherwise all good. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Upper floor room was great - own entrance

We spend one week in Amity Lodge Motel and highly recommend to people who want to comfortable and cozy accommodation during their stay. Motel is situated in the heart of Queenstown, Queenstown City Centre. Moreover, this motel is close by several tourist attractions such as Queenstown Garden, Steamer Wharf, Kiwi and Birdlife Park and many more. This is the best and convenient motel in the Queenstown offering free parking.
Staff of the motel is extremely friendly and offers professional approach towards the need of customers. They are very attentive all the time and you do not find any fault in their service. Rooms of the motel have lots of space and clean environment. Interior of the room is modern and classy, which complements each and every corner of the room.
