“Friendly, well located hotel”

The Amity is a friendly hotel with large, clean rooms. Jo and Doug were very helpful with directions and info. It's an easy ten minute walk into the centre of town (bit harder on the way back with the steep hill!). Hotel is also on the bus route to the airport which is handy. Our room had a sitting room and kitchen with a separate bedroom and was very quiet. Some building work was going on next door (probably finished by now anyway) but it didn't disturb us as started after we were up and finished early. Queenstown being what it is you're not in your room during the day anyway!

Doug and Jo made us all so very welcome, superb accommodation that was immaculate in all respects. The motel is just the right distance out of town, pleasant evening walk after one of those big holiday meals. Highly recommended plus a special bonus of Carla the motel dog, one very cool animal who's life is focused on the ball.

This was a random gem of a find! After a good review in our Lonely Planet book, we took a chance and we sooooo pleasantly surprised! don't be scared by the words 'lodge' and 'motel'. this place is perfect, clean, well run, and an amazing value for the expensive city of Queenstown!

Doug is super funny, helpful, and made our stay great! We needed just a place as a couple, but all of his single units were occupied. Doug gave us a double suite, which had a living room, mini kitchenette, a second bedroom (he just closed the door and said don’t use it…) and a large bathroom full of amenities (makeup remover cloths, plush towels, and a HUGE shower/tub) for a super cheap rate! It was one of our most comfortable nights in New Zealand. The kitchen was stocked with everything from a cork screw and potato masher, to wine glasses and knife selection.

Super close walking distance to the town. Doug booked us on a jet boat tour, and gave us great suggestions to eat. We are so happy that we stumbled upon this lovely place and cannot say enough good things about it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Stayed for 5 nights, Doug and Jo are great hosts and were very helpful. The room, had 1 bedroom, good size separate lounge, and excellent cooking facilities. Short walk to town and all the bars and restaraunts and the gondola. A very pleasant stay and would recommend it to any one.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have a nice balcony for an afternoon drink.

Many places closer to the central town for much more money. The Amity Lodge is clean, spacious (two room apartment style) and close enough to walk to dinner in town. The first night we walked down the hill for dinner which was about 10 minutes. The second night we drove to the car park on Stanley Street which is free after 6pm. All in all a very good value for Queenstown.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a nice view toward the gondola.

Booked 3 night stay based on Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Separate bedroom, large bathroom (with a bath!), and spacious lounge with balcony sunlit in the afternoons and well-equipped kitchen area left no room for any complaints. Owner friendly and helpful. On top of that Queenstown is, of course, a good place to stay. Our first thoughts on booking in Queenstown had been to find accommodation with a lake view. However, although Amity lodge lacks this, it more than compensates by its considerable value for money and the views are only a short stroll away. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

After reading the reviews, it was a no-brainer staying here, and we weren't disappointed. The reviews are spot-on. Doug was great. Lots of helpful suggestions on where to go and what to see. There is lots to do and see in and around Queenstown - Coronet Peak, Arrowtown, Glenorchy, wineries. We stayed for longer than we planned, partly because Amity Lodge was so comfortable, partly because there was so much to do. Our apartment was spacious with a full kitchen and comfortable lounge. The bedroom had room for the queen bed and a single bed, which meant there was space to put our things. We had breakfast at a small table setting outside our door. While there no "view", we cd see the Gondolas going up and down the mountain. Very quiet and we slept well. Thoroughly recommend this hotel, esp for travelers with a car.

Room Tip: We had a downstairs room. I saw younger and stronger travelers carting their luggage up to the upper...
