Heritage Heights Holiday Apartments
Reviewed 27 July 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the heritage 2 weeks ago. We had awesome service from the team at the front desk. And the room was tidy and pretty good value for money. Unfortunately when we went to the bar and had ordered some drinks and food we were left with a raw burger and my salmon salad was a few strips of salmon with a lettuce leaf underneath it. We complained and were told our meals would be replaced. After A few minutes of waiting the bar manager came over and said she would replace the burger but not the salad and I would be charged for it (i hadn't even taken one bite) and it was my fault that I wasn't expecting a entree sized meal (even though it was never advertised as one). We ended getting one free drink for the burger. Really disappointed by this experience and the found the bar manager extremely rude.

Great location but Do not trust the photos advertised online. the facilities are nothing like that. We paid a premium room rate of around NZD$400 a night for a 3 bedroom apartment for 3 nights but at checking in we were asked to pay an additional $50 for a WiFi access. There was no toilet rolls, dish washing liquid, washing powder or hand soap provided. No linen changing, no bin collection... Pans and pots are dirty. We had to drive down to super market to get all essentials to clean up. The house is extremely poorly built. Many light bulbs were out. Kids bathroom has direct and easy access to roof top with no fence! Very dangerous!! I wonder how this place passed the Code of Building Compliances in the first place!

The apartments are spacious, practical, in working order, serviceable but lack charm and finesse. The beds were comfortable, heating worked well, appliances functioning. They urgently need an interior designer and maintenance visit. The shower door didn't close, cabinetry near the bath is water damaged and swollen etc. These items could be easily fixed. The decor was very plain and had no charm or heart. There was a lack of basics, such as washing up liquid etc. However the price is reasonable and other alternatives we priced in Queenstown were more expensive. So perhaps I'm being too harsh. Don't expect luxury or style. The owner / manager is very obliging and can secure good deals on hire cars / ski equipment rental etc.

We had unit 16 which was at the entrance end. This provided an outside area plus table as well as the 3 bedrooms. The outside area would be of great use with stunning views down the lake and over Queenstown in the warmer part of the year, unfortunately we didn't use it given it was winter. The views from the lounge, dining, kitchen and each of the bedrooms is nothing less than spectacular being able to see down the lake to Walter Peak, the gondola restaurant and the central part of Queenstown.
Proximity to the town is just a few minutes walk though it is a steady to steep climb from the CBD.
Plenty of heating units in the stairway and each of the bedrooms and a heat pump for the lounge, dining and kitchen area so we were warm despite the time of the year.
There were a couple of minor hassles caused by earlier tenants (breakages, items missing) but this were rapidly attended to after a simple phone call.

Room Tip: All bedrooms are good value and have their own heating. One master room with queen bed and the other...

We recently stayed Thursday and Friday night at these apartments. Although clean and spacious, they appeared a little neglected. No teatowels, flannels and bread and butter plates. The instruction manual was very out of date as we discovered on looking for instructions for the heat pump, said they had sky but did not, no information re rubbish/recycling. However I emailed my list of complaints suggesting they may like to remedy these problems. They emailed their thanks for letting them know and said they would get on to it. Hopefully they have

Stayed there from 10-14th December 2012. On the 12.12.12 was our wedding. We purchased vouchers for the apartments via Groupon, when checked later the apartments were exactly the same price without using vouchers.

When first entered the apartment there was a disgusting smell of rotten curry. We advised the owner asking to get rid of the smell. Leaving all the windows open left for dinner, when came back, found all the windows closed and a little "aircon" box on the wall turned on. What sane person would ever do it? The smell stayed the entire time we were staying there. Even my wedding dress was stinky on the wedding day. Actually, all our clothes were stinky.

The rooms were not very clean. The dishes in the cupboards were dirty.

The massage bath was broken.

There was a box right outside the apartment, which stunk like hell. The owner said that the previous guests chucked the rubbish in it although they weren't meant to. She said it will be removed, which never happened.

Neighbours were a bit noisy too. One night we just went to sleep and the show started right outside our apartment some Chinese people were arguing and throwing each other out of the apartment. It took more than 20 min to quieten down and the owners didn't take any action.

I don't think the view was worth paying money for and having all these issues. Certainly can't call it "Luxury Accommodation"

Room Tip: Please don't choose this one if you don't like disappointment. Don't believe the review...

We stayed at these apartments for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The views from the apartment are amazing. All the rooms have views overlooking queenstown and lake wakatipu. There were 3 double bedrooms fully equipped with heaters and furniture. It was clean and relatively new. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances you would need so we cooked on a few nights. It is well managed, however when we checked-in there was no one in the office and luckily another tenant was available to tell us what extension number to ring. Overall, we enjoyed staying here and will probably stay again.
