Our stay was good, nothing went wrong or was bad. We just felt that the money we paid was quite overpriced for what we got. The service was lackluster, the room was nice, clean but had very little facilities. There was no enough parking for everyone staying so it was a fight for parking. We just felt that other places we have stayed at were cheaper and we got alot more for what we paid. Overall though the place was clean and was good for a short stay.

The mantra is a little way out of queenstown , so you'll need to either bike or car if you want to go in, which I would suggest where all the restaurant you would want to eat are. We had a double bedroom which all I can say was fantastic. Had everything u would need plus a very comfortable bed. The units are very spacious.
I'm not sure though u would want one of the single rooms, very small but well stocked. All in all we had a pleasant stay.

The hotel is exactly as the website describes - modern, spacious and great lake-side views. We actually liked not being closer to central Queenstown - less congestion, no parking hassle or fee, more convenient to Hackett Bungy, airport and in-road from Manapouri. We drove into CBD twice - once for shopping, second time for sight-seeing. Family of four fit very comfortably into the apartment. Reserve a lake-side room for best views and less traffic noise.

We were originally meant to stay in the Luxury Lake Suites, which is owned by Marina, however, they moved us to the Marina Mantra because they kindly allowed us to leave our bags in our rooms for free while we went to Milford Sounds for an overnight trip. That alone was worth the 5 stars.

However, the accommodation here is superb. We were in a 2 bed apartment that has a huge kitchen and living area that opens up on to the riverside with a large outdoor living space. There are BBQs around the corner, washer and dryer in the apartment, and ensuites in both rooms. Our apartment also looked very recently renovated (last few years).

We would definitely stay again.

We booked a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was huge. There is a bus stop outside but the fares are $5.50 each into Queenstown and as we are a family of four it was stupid to catch the bus as a taxi was the same price. Bit disappointed about how far out of town it actually is.

Our shower in the master ensuite was awful it kept jumping off the holder and spraying the dry towels on the rail. I asked reception at 10.00am if they could please fix it as now we had to hold it whilst showering - not good for a 5 star hotel. We got back to our room at 6.45pm and it was still broken. I went to reception again and he told us that he needed to find the tool that would fix it and they have had heaps of problems with the shower heads, I also advised him that the light needed a new bulb in the bathroom too although how the cleaner missed it whilst cleaning our room is beyond me as it was flashing like a disco. He duly arrived at our room with no tool to fix the shower and after 5 minutes of fiddling with the light he couldn't unscrew the fitting! He said I'm sorry about this but you could just use the other shower!!! Not good customer service if we all wanted to use the same bathroom I would have booked a smaller unit.

The staff is excellent, the hotel never gave us clean towels, or toilet paper, I called early on before we left to explore and they never followed through till the next day. Don't get room 101 it is right on the end of the motel with big windows right out to the road, we had to keep the curtains drawn or we were in a fish bowl with the hot sun pouring in. Not a good room.they should tint those windows so you have some privacy. The hotel is right on the lake so that was nice, you need to drive to downtown queenstown.

Room Tip: Get a room off the road.
