“A Dream come true!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 December 2009

As we pulled into their driveway, it was like a dream come true! So peaceful, so majestic, just what the doctor ordered after a 11 day hiking/camping trip. Sue and Graham's hospitality was everything we could ask for and more. They found the perfect balance of giving us our privacy, and making us feel at home. The complimentary evening canapes and drinks was a very nice touch. They helped us with tour/adventure reservations, and were always happy to give us a ride if we needed one (Queenstown, Arrowhead, Airport). Queenstown is only a few minutes away, one day we enjoyed the pleasant walk back from town. The upstairs bedroom and adjoining bath is absolutely gorgeous and the view is stunning. If I could build my dreamhouse, it would be the Canyons Lodge. We can't wait to go back!

WOW - an incredible place to stay! My partner and I spent 3 nights here, and could easily have stayed for a week.
Everything about the place was amazing - the views, the bathrooms (especially in the upstairs room), the beds (so comfortable), the hosts, the breakfast - everything.
The place is clean and comfortable. Graham and Sue will invite you to make yourself at home while there. Nothing is too much trouble for them!
It is located about 5 minutes from the center of Queenstown, on the road that leads to the Shotover River Jet. It is easier to get to if you have a car.
Easily the most memorable and enjoyable place we've stayed at.
Thanks so much, Graham & Sue! Look forward to visiting again one day!

We loved it here. It was our favourite place to stay in the South Island. The hosts are friendly warm and relaxed (and greet you with a bottle of wine and antipasto plate each evening - which is a massive bonus!). The rooms are beautifully decorated and the view is to die for - we definately recommend an outdoor spa in the afternoon to evening!! It was a close drive to Queenstown, Arrowtown - we even went horseriding which was a blast (just ask and you shall recieve!)!! We had some absolutely delicious dinners - which the hosts can recommend to you! Definately 5 stars in my book!!

Having arranged our stay purely by searching online, my breath was taken away when we actually arrived at this fantastic location. Our hosts Graham and Sue certainly have an eye for detail, and made sure absolutely all our needs were catered for during the time of our stay. They were also most helpful in assisting us with many arrangements for our wedding, which was held at Canyons Lodge. The rooms, view, service and facilities are most simply described as Premium Quality throughout. You will not be disappointed.

We really enjoyed our 3-day stay at the Canyons Lodge. Beautiful spot, fabulous view, very comfy rooms and spacious garden and very helpful and kind owners. Great place to relax and good vantage point to discover Queenstown and surroundings (food, wineries, fishing, skiing, walking etc....).

We stayed at the Lodge for 10 days with our family and friends and what a location! The views were breathtaking, the surrounds quite (apart from the jet boats!) and the lodge was immaculate. Our casual, cocktail style wedding which took part on the expanding deck was everything we hoped it would be. The owners of the lodge couldnt have been more helpful and welcoming. To top our stay we were lucky enough to experience a 20cm spring snow fall. An experience that we will never forget :)

A truly unique site, elevated above the famed Shotover River. Accommodation with a true Lodge feel in a cosy warm atmosphere. Peaceful setting to walk or just relax and soak up the views. To taste that dry mountain air and feel at home in such a beautiful Lodge - is hard to beat. My wife and I totally enjoyed our 3 nights and Sue & Graham's hosting fits perfect with the warmth and excellence of the Lodge and its surrounds. Can't wait to get time to return. A must for those of you who want something special and still only a stone’s throw from all the action.
